    Var

Can fuck right off, for me.

Was the game any worse before it? Goals can no longer be properly celebrated for fear of them being ruled out, the morons at Stockley Park make the rules up as they go along...and I mean that literally.

Yes, there are occasions when goals have been rightly ruled out or allowed, bad challenges have been punished, all that stuff. But, for me, the times it has got things wrong are bad enough to negate the good things it brings. Keep the goal-line technology and have retrospective action for diving or really bad fouls but sack the rest of it off, man. It's beyond a joke (and I was in favour of it previously)

    Thoughts?

Villa foaming at the gash for their disallowed goal today. Moyes moaning - don't hear him when the decisions benefit him, mind.

I've never personally liked VAR. Call me old school but I prefer to be robbed off a dodgy ref than to be robbed off VAR. I think it has fucked up football where you celebrate and then wait to celebrate or have it chalked off because someone's pubes got pulled 20 secs beforehand in the buildup. It's stupid.

Offsides were always wrongly called and blatant pens and dives got the wrong decision. But I found that blatant injustice a part of football's appeal. I can accept goal-line technology and, at the most, pitch-side monitors... but I prefer to live without VAR reversing the ref's decision (I know we've benefited from a couple). I suppose injustice lives on through VAR... but it is just rubbish that messes up the flow of the game. Leg-breaking tackles get pulled up in the ref's review and bans get handed out anyway so why do we need VAR pausing the game while another ref is remixing the video footage...

You win some and you lose more. But I'd prefer it gone. Unfortunately, that is never going to happen.

    Agreed.

It feels like it is being used to keep the top 6, as the top 6.

The amount of decisions today (not in our game) that went in their favour and did teams such Hammers down, teams that are closing in on those spots.

    Absolute joke.

The issue isn't VAR imo, it is the grossly incompetent idiots that are using it. I don't need to go to specsavers to be able to see that Willock received a hefty shove in the back meaning that whether or not the keeper then got impeded or the ball hadn't gone in off the defender into the net that any referral to VAR should result in a penalty. That goal not standing is no fault of VARs, 100% the fault of the muppets using it, if indeed they aren't using it with an agenda in mind

I agree that nothing is wrong with var, it’s the people using it that are the problem. It has a place in football but the very worst of it (which must be stopped) is the spoiling of the goal celebration. For me, any decision that cannot be overruled inside 3 seconds should stand.
This means goal line technology is good and we need to introduce similar for offside - sensors on the chest of each player recording positions when the ball was kicked transmitted to the online referees wrist.
Handballs, red cards etc should revert to being for the on-field ref to decide. In a nut shell, get rid of VAR but boost technology to help the on field ref to make better decisions.

Agree 100% with you mate! VAR has become a handy tool for the lovers of MAN CITY, CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL, SPURS< ARSENAL and MANURE. The mind boggles at the amount of goals disallowed in favour of those six arsehole clubs !!!!

VAR is starting to look like a tool that Donald Trump could have made up. As its based on an alternative truth.
