And just who is going to be that dictator?

Cannot believe that almost 50% of all respondents would be happy with that.

But I suppose it depends on who those 8,004 adults are.

    .
They wouldn't be. Unfortunately a lot of people will only learn the lesson the hard way, taking the rest of us into hell with them.

OK fair enough, although I'd change 'heading' to 'being dragged' in that sentence

Well, Putin and the Russians have been bankrolling the Conservative Party for the last decade or so… so I guess his name is in the hat?

As for the Chinese bankrolling the Liebour Party, perhaps we should say nothing about the party who will be in permanent opposition.

Surely even you can see the irony in typing 'Liebour', when your hero Boris has just been booted out by his own party for telling incessant lies!

On second thoughts, you probably don't see any irony at all.

Incessant lies? Surely he was only saying what he believed to be true.

    Never knowingly misleading anyone!

I'd anticipate that it will be somebody from mainland Western Europe with the UK eventually falling in line, probably the last to hold out - being an island - though I wouldn't want to predict if the road to totalitarianism will be left or right. Ultimately it makes no difference of course, just which side happens to be cheerleading it all on before they find themselves the first to be up against the wall for not being extreme enough. There are some very powerful and influential people in the world right now and they won't care how we get there, so long as their own interests are looked after. If it's easier to appeal to right wing sensibilities, they'll take that route and vice-versa.

The way I see it, voting either Tory or Labour is now a vote to jump off a cliff, the only difference being that with the Tories you might get a chance to say your prayers first. Labour - currently - the marginally more authoritarian aligned party and in more of a hurry to embrace the technocracy, but that could change.

It's definitely easier to appeal to right wing sensibilities, because they have the money and the power. They are a minority, but a minority that seem to be able to convince the majority that they really, really have their interests at heart.

Politics is even more baffling than Notts at times.
