I think most fans are a bit meh about the next appointment as the more pressing issue is the massive gap we have right at the heart of our team! It's like getting Gordon Ramsay in to cook you a sunday roast but you haven't bought a chicken or tatties!

This is such a crucial decison. Get it wrong and we're relegated.
I agree. Should only be giving to World Cup break to see how it goes if interested in LF

It failing so quickly and dramatically into his tenure at United speaks of a wider issue at the club. Going through as any managers in such a short space of time doesn't make United an attractive proposition when it really should be hence the lack of genuine contenders.
    100% agree. Good post.

If I was getting Gordon Ramsay in it would be as our next manager.
He'd probably do as well as anyone else who we are going to get.
That's how absurd it all is.
9 managers. 7 years. What an embarrasment.

    P.S. Sunday roast - the 0-9 game?

P.P.S. I'm not sure either if chicken constitutes a Sunday roast, I think we're talking BEEF there.
You're thinking chicken dinner, Ramsay would go mental.

To be fair, of the last 4 head coaches 3 leaving was their choice. You could argue this indicates a deeper issue but that is definitely speculation.

People are getting so hung up on the manager changes. Nielson left for a bigger club, more money, the team he supports after doing a good job. Micky Mellon nearly drove me away from football altogether his brand of football became the biggest chore to watch so was glad to see him go and id imagine our investors felt the same. Courts is built a bit different, his stock was high and an opertunity to consolidate himself as a fully fledged manager came up so i see why he took it, i don't think he should have though. He was definitely under appreciated by the same selection of fans that spread all these rumours daily. Ross was an absolute car crash, there is no way a manager can stay in a job after the manner of these defeats and also failing to fix the absolute gaping holes in our midfield. Would people rather be stayed?

Whoever it is is in for a really tough time due to the imbalance of the squad. Wouldn't fancy it for that reason alone.

Plenty of free agents about. The thing with United just now is that they are looking to unearth gems from African markets. This all seems very familiar in that Thompson and McNamara were buying in youths from Europe with the hope of banking some money. All they got was relegation as they forgot that having a good football team that wins matches and entertains are the ones that get the scouts coming to watch potential targets.

Is there a club anywhere that have thrived with a policy of gambling on possible future transfer fees to sustain them? Its utter madness if thats what our business plan consits of. We dont have to look very far to see how quickly things can implode. Also banking on cup runs that dont happen. Each season should be based on the least you might do. Avoid relegation first & any cup runs or transfer fees are your bonus - not the hopeful backbone of a clubs planning

I keep hearing about this CDM we're missing & personally think it's a load of sh!te.
We have several midfielders, they can't all be C Attacking M's can they?
Can't two or three of them just hang back a bit?
And if they're all AM's how come we canna score a f'n goal?
So are they all neither AM's or DM's who loiter about the centre circle getting in each other's way.
And don't give we're missing Butch, that's a load of sh!te as well, he was not highly regarded & don't you deny it.
Word on the street as I recall is he was mostly sh!te.
Only imbalance I detect is centre forward but there's not a club in the country not looking for good CF's.

All this stuff is Sky Sports sh!te.
