In a similar way it's taken a club the size of Derby to tempt Warne away, I think it'd take a bigger club than us and bigger money than we'd offer to tempt Bonner way from Cambridge. He's a Cambridge fan, it's his club, I think he'd be reluctant to leave unless it was an offer he really couldn't refuse. I'm not sure we could make that offer.

    Quote from Ainsworth:

“All these rumours are just rumours and I am really happy with what I have got here.“The moment I start looking around and looking at what I might be able to have [elsewhere] is the moment I let myself down as a manager.“

Very principled. Would pass the good person test with flying colours.

It's a fore gone conclusion imo. Rob Scott and Hurst were at ilkistone and Grimsby together. One phones call from TS and he gets the job.
A risky choice but there were reasons he didn't work at Ipswich/scummy. Ipswich were cost cutting and scummy didn't have a pot to piz in.
At Shrewsbury and Grimsby he was fantastic

Wouldn't be my first choice but I can see him working at Rufc. Good addition IMO

I mentioned his name on another thread but Jody Morris has expressed interest in the Cardiff job and was fairly high up on the bookies list last time I looked. I wonder if he's applied for the job here.

Was a coach in the Chelsea Academy helping to bring through the likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James etc and won pretty much everything there was to win at that level. Then went on to be assistant to Lampard at Derby and then Chelsea. Now seems to want to make the step up to be manager. He'd have some great contacts when it comes to getting loan players and of course, he played for us briefly.

I think what Liam Rosenior had started at Derby was very good.

He was made interim manager (therefore he knew he wasn't getting the gig) and inherited 5 full time professionals.

Recruited 14 new players and used the youth system to get a squad together.

Allowing time for the new squad/team to gel and all what that involves, he had taken Derby to 14 points from 9 games and just outside the play-offs on goal difference.

He would be a good shout to me but not sure what he would do in terms of his required coaching backup/support.
Woody would be an obvious choice adn possibly start to get other senior players involved liked Peltier?

Just so we can have a conversation in the same language, can you define what you mean by "character"?

I don't want to put words in his mouth but I assume by "character" he really means "a tw@t"

"Controversial character" I think you might say.
