Great stories mon ami, it seems like we are getting on a bit now my old mucker. Did I tell you about the time...

Actually mon ami, you could help me out, your recent stay in Devon has got me pining for another visit, we haven't been for years. Any recommendations, hotels or self catering, in the Dartmouth/Kingswear/Brixham area would be much appreciated.

We stayed in the Premier Inn at Paignton mon ami, cost us £90.00 a night but it's equidistant from Torquay and Brixham and the Kingswear ferries are only 6 miles away.

There's a great new restaurant idea with branches in Brixham and Torquay. Fish caught same day, served same day. I had the freshest oysters ever with the whitest monkfish that was delicious. Apparently, they have their own fishing boat and trade as ROCKFISH.

We visited both venues, the prices are reasonable, the food is superb. Great lunch in Totnes too! When I win the lottery it's a harbour fronted townhouse in Dartmouth for me.

Cheers mon ami, airports are still out, so are cruises until they forget about muzzles, so it's Blighty for me and the missus again next year, with Devon next on the list.

I find if I book way in advance the Premier Inn rates are 30% lower than the late booking prices and quite frankly all we want is a comfy clean bed, a hot shower and a secure room. We always eat out, so the Premier Inns suit us perfectly especially when they have free on-site parking, and that represents a real saving.

We use Premier Inns a lot, always book well in advance and take the pay up front, no cancellation option, the saving is huge and we've only ever lost out once by having to cancel.

Try Bridlington, it's a proper belter.
