Just about. Bit measly down the bottom end for the smaller clubs.

I think playing your strongest team is an insult to the fringe players. Sends a bad message to players who need competitive game time and minutes in the legs. There are some clear examples of decent players who due to our success have had very limited time on the pitch.

Why risk injury of a key man this early in a cup competition. I'm hopeful Luke and staff view it the same.

I'd be surprised if the team against Coalville was anywhere near the team at Woking or the team against Maidstone. It's an ideal chance to rest a few, and offer a few the chance to push their claims. We should still have enough to win and I love the FA Cup, but if it comes back to bite us on the arse I will see it as a risk worth taking.

I think the FA cup is very important both in terms of revenue & prestige.
To start with anything less than our best starting XI would be crazy IMHO.
If we get comfortably ahead, then by all means sweep in the changes!
The time to put out a reserve team is in the Non-league Cup thingy.

I agree. Start with a decent team then if we manage to get 3-0 up, do what you wish then. How many subs are you allowed, 7? 18 players is nearly all our squad anyhoo.

9 subs listed with 5 that can be used from a maximum of 3 substitution stoppages?

The Cup may not seem important to some, but it provides a line of bonus income. Start with fringe players for 60 mins or so. If things going well score wise, stick. If potential shock start to bring the big guns on to alter the game.

I’d bring the “fringe players” in as far as possible. It’s a bit of a risk to the club’s reputation because defeat by Coalville would result in a lot of the wrong sort of headlines, but I think we’ve got some very decent players (Austin in particular) who need a first team game and are collectively good enough to get us a win..

And I think that’s what LW will do.
