Referee Sends Off Wrong Player, in Game Bolton Wanderers v Forest Green Rovers

Bolton Wanderers played Forest Green Rovers in a league one game on Tuesday night 24 Jan.
Bolton took a early lead through striker Dion Charles, then just before 30 minutes play,
Dion Charles was shown a straight red card, after a incident inside FGR penalty area, the
linesman flagged after seeing the violent incident, in which the referee gave Dion Charles
    a straight red card.
Footage of the incident in the FGR penalty area have emerged, in which it shows the referee
sent off the wrong player, after the footage shows Bolton Wanderers striker Elias Kachunga
punch FGR centre-half Brandon Cooper in the stomach, which was a violent punch.
Cooper went to ground after being punched, but got up straight away & carried on playing.

The EFL will be looking at the incident surely after the violent attack, & the referee &
linesman in question, both being made to go to spec-savers.
Fair do to Brandon Cooper not retaliating after the incident.

I assume it will be rescinded and the correct player given a 3 match ban

Football Association agreed a case of mistaken identity in relation to the red card, given to Dion Charles.

Dion Charles red card rescinded, & the real culprit Elias Kachungo given a 3 match ban, Kachungo as had
a load of abuse over the incident, with not owning up in the game to the referee, that he was the culprit.

Nothing said about the referee apologising to Dion Charles, which he & the lineman [who flagged the incident]
    should have done.

Should be more than a three match ban if he punched a player in stomach surely

Would be more than 3 games if he called him a “ naughty” name
