In my opinion Maatsen has been found wanting a numerous occasions this season and quite easily beaten by a winger of a decent skill set. As I mentioned earlier, the Hull City winger breezed passed him on a number of occasions and put in a decent cross which thenkfully came to nothing.
Maasten is a good attaching wing back but I have reservations concerning his defending skills against a decent winger.

I think BT has been watching the same player as me. "I have said exactly the same C_M. Both of them are silky smooth going forward but can't defend for toffee".
I don’t go off BTs opinion, he’s not really the best judge on here. My own is that maatsan would be a huge loss should we not sign him.

Sometimes a winger just has your number. Some times a full back has a wingers number as we have seen with both benson and anas over the season.

Imagine going backwards and putting some one like Taylor there again. It would be awful to see.

Where you have BTS opinion to match I’ll stick with VKs

I fear for Maatsen in the PL defensively, he could get ripped to shreds on a regular basis, but I really hope we sign him, Vinni will be aware of his defensive limitations, he'll be working on it, and we're a far better team with Maatsen than without him.

Fairly well balanced assessment on Mr Maatsen is that mon ami.

His goals and assists well supersede his occasional defensive lapses I would suggest.

Bit like Muric I suppose, they both have defensive lapses, but they haven't held us back this season, and all the experts will tell you, there are no easy games in the Championship and it's a very hard league to get out of.

Welcome to the club UG. In BT's world a pedant is someone who won't put up with his BS and won't back down in the face of his bluff and bluster. It took quite a long while for me to convince him it wouldn't work with me, you've got there a lot quicker. Good man.

What I find strange mon ami is 98% of the time we are 100% congruent on footy matters but only about 4% congruent 100% of the time on political matters, but with U_G if I say it's white he says it's black no matter what the subject is.

He's Tony Scholes with a pseudonym I'm pretty sure.
