You're right on a lot of points. However Potter's role at Brighton was that of a coach. He had no say in the players brought in to the club. His role at Chelsea is identical.
The players he has been given are the absolute best in modern football today. All top top quality young talent with massive growth potential.
Bohely has made the decision to sign a completely new team. That is is his right as a club owner. He's beaten all the usual top crooks, I mean clubs of Europe like Real, Juve etc to acquire the talent. Chelsea will not need to sign any players for 1 or 2 window for sure.
More over they will be able to sell off all their high value assets which are not going be part of the long term project.
The really issue is Tuchel. The arrogant German didn't want to work within the new structure of the club. These players were bought for him to model, coach and develop into a generational side which would dominate the EPL and Challenge for UCL glory.
Tuchel being a pr!ck lead to his sack and Potter being brought in. Sadly when you are managing such a large number of top top quality players you have to keep them motivated and engaged in the project. That means a lot of rotation. Rotation leads to unsettled team play and unity as we know only too well is a far more powerful tool than 11 top quality assassins.
We are a unit, a squad united, lacking depth of quality in comparison with a team like Chelsea however we beat them well even thought it was only 1-0. We will beat them again at the Bridge to secure our top 3 finish on the last day of the season. They'll already be on the beach with nothing to play for.
In summary - Bohely has been a smart business man and hoovered up all available quality assets. They have enormous resale value so they will be able to balance their books without any trouble what so ever.
Potter needs to have some balls, pick a team and work with them to get some positive results. However I don't know if he has that level of clout and gravitas within the dressing room to be able to keep the poorly performing squad motivated to get the results required to salvage some kind of pride from a poor season.
I don't think so. However, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch than the Chelsea fans. They were a nothing club before the Ruski bought bought them, their arrogancy is based on being one of the original teams to really distort the transfer market.
Just sit back, crack out the pop corn and enjoy the chaos.
It's brilliant that Chelsea and Tottenham have become the world of football's laughing stocks.
I for one love that fact we are a well run club with no drama or humiliation.
Soak it up people it's good times to be an NUFC fan
