Brighton should feel rather smug this morning and afford a little chuckle to themselves.

Been rumours about Cooper across the road also, supposedly interviewed someone for his job over the International Break, hence why the massive support for him on Saturday
If they lose at Leeds tomorrow the Kebab owner could well pull the trigger
Management these days is a short term job especially in the Premier League but also a very wealthy job.

It's the only job if you fail In it you'll get a good severence pay off and more likely another well paid job, and so it continues

Yeah, it's hard to feel sorry for them when they are sacked but still get paid £millions.

I'm more likely to applaud them, then feel sorry. You win big as soon as you get the gig.

Potter reportedly getting a £13 million payoff from Chelsea, which just shows the insanity of football at that level.

A tidy £5m more than the reported figure Steve Bruce received from Newcastle.

Serves Chelsea and Todd Boehly right, quite frankly. You wouldn't have to do too much background research to work out that while Graham Potter is a very good manager, he's not an instant impact manager. The style of football he plays takes time to develop, even with top players, and if Chelsea's inflated ego could not handle waiting for the Guinness to settle, then they should never have appointed him. No doubt the constant rumours of Potter being "under pressure" just made his job more difficult, such that he may have eventually wanted out, but that's where a good owner should have backed their own managerial choice, preaching time, patience and building for the long-term.

Opposite end of the scale to Potter, really. Brendan Rodgers was given a lot of time by Leicester's owners, despite it being obvious for a least the past two years that his team were on the slide. The FA Cup win actually papered over cracks that were already widening. I'm not sure Rodgers is as good a manager as his reputation suggests, but it's also true that you can't keep replacing top players with second rate players and not expect a decline in results. Their good players got old or left, and were replaced by under-studies or sub-par replacements. This has been creeping up on them for some time.
