Im still not unhappy, i said at the start of the season 10th would be good and i stand by it. Yes you get disappointed some when we were flying and at that point with out form and some of the football played i felt the play offs would be no problem and we would be a match for anyone

The style of football has changed lately, the confidence, passing, one touch football has gone, we look slower. Is it other teams knowing how to play against us, is it old legs getting tired?, is it maybe that earlier on the pressure was off and they players could enjoy it more?

We can still do it but saturdays result was a huge blow, i have a feeling that those 2 points could be the difference.

A review after year 1 is standard practice in the 2 year plan for clubs exiting admin. There was always going to be a review. What that might bring is anyone's guess.

I said, pre season that midtable was the expectation and anything better would be a welcome bonus. We're in bonus country. Hard to be dissatisfied with the season as a whole. Small squad, unbalanced in terms of it being populated by "kids and wrinklies" without the 24 to 29 year old glue that is what usually makes team better.

Whatever happens, I'll still be a Ram next season, still watch the majority of games via RamsTV and get to half a dozen in person. I'll refrain from making any expectations known until I see how the squad changes in the summer.

Outclassed like you did in which game this season?

Derby 2 Barnsley 1 - you maybe deserved a draw.
    Derby 3 Barnsley 0 - should have been 5 or 6
Barnsley 4 Derby 1 - deserved win but you should remember that 3 of the 4 came from defensive cock ups by Derby. We both had 10 shots. Both had 5 on target. Outclassed? I'll have what you've been on

We are currently 6-5 ahead on aggregate

So here's hoping that Warne will not be that restricted in getting players in, though clearly one should not expect significant spending, but it should be a much better scenario than last summer.
Love that to be the case.

As regards the youngsters...I take your point about L1 not being a level where skill is ‘respected’ - although McGoldrick’s performances would suggest otherwise - but I think, if anything, there was more pressure in 21/22 than there has been this season and yet we had at least eight ‘kids’...Bird, Sibley, Knight, Cashin, Ebiowei, Thompson, Plange, Ebosele...who all played leading roles in last season’s (nearly) great escape.

Ebosele would, imo, have been a certainty for selection had he still been with us this season, but most of those ‘young guns’ seemed to flourish in immensely difficult circumstances last year. Whether that is down to management, coaching, playing level, or the fact that we had a stronger ‘spine’ last season is open to question.

What isn't open to question is that we have used less players than any other team in this league, that this league is a grind week in week out, that we have an unbalanced squad, that our results throughout the season against the top teams has been weak and that, apart from Didzy, the rest of the "strikers' and midfield have contributed bog all in the goals department! The combination of those factors has, imo, resulted in tired legs, inconsistent performances, a drop off in closing down, a wobbly defence and a general lethargy mentally. Warne seems to have changed things around in an attempt to recharge lethargic performances but has failed, indeed he may have, inadvertently, made matters worse.
I still maintain that this transition season has been great fun, a remarkable success and a marvellous response after MM's carnage. There is much more work to be done and plenty to look forward, even in L2!

There will be lots of twists and turns even at this stage of the season. Look at Bolton, for instance. They trounced Plymouth in the egg cup thing but their league form has taken the odd wobble recently. You could have Wycombe or even Portsmouth making a late run on the rails. The last day of the season might prove crucia for two play off conenders. Barnsley will field a weakened side against Peterborough and so hand them the points. Derby will face a a strong SW side, maybe needing something to guarantee automatic promotion with Derby almost certgainly almost neeeding something from the game. Such a scenario doesn't augur well for Derby especially if their aforementioned teams have relatively easy games.

If that's your take on "outclassed" then you and Barnsley deserve one another. Far from being Brazil

Evening squire. A good relationship with the League, eh? Say no more, say no more.
