I must have been the only one who missed KC following MP around the pitch having an argument. I can only remember two mistakes by Cameron that have led directly to goals, one against Gateshead away and another I can't remember who it was against. I am not sure what you mean by 'clever buying of free kicks', as it is KC being fouled, if the defender is stupid enough to push him in the back then the referee will obviously blow for a foul.
I imagine if a poll was taken from the whole of the Notts fan base then maybe two or three per cent might be happy for him to leave.

It really isn't his fault that players pile into his back and don't have the nous to jockey and force Cam into a decision. Refs will continue to give it because you can't plough through a player to get the ball. It's a foul! We're just not used to seeing it in those areas of the pitch so often.

Cameron's been a great success in his two years at Notts. When the nigh-on ever-present captain of a record-breaking team doesn't have fans' support you really have to wonder.

I think he'd be bitterly disappointed if he knew this - fortunately the vast majority of fans appreciate all that he contributes.
Most probably AC, those that want him gone need to visit Spec Savers. Or get there Cataracts looked at.

The fact that only Chicksen has signed a new contract tells a story - is it likely that Chicksen was the only out-of contract player to be offered a new contract? - of course not, nor is it likely that he would be the first player to be offered such so, does this mean that other players have been offered new contracts and are still considering them or are they waiting to see if we get promotion or; have they already turned down the offer?. It is likely that the players that LW and the Bros wish to retain were identified some time back and surely all new contracts would have been offered at the same time to avoid any favouritism. Thoughts?

I do quite admire your ‘black and white’ views on pretty much everything Durham, it must make life so much simpler than living through the large quantities of grey areas that life throws up! I have not noticed a more optimistic outlook in your recent posts too…nice one.

Regarding Cameron, I don’t mean to personally attack him. He has been consistent this year and has given his all, which in my world is all you can ever realistically ask of someone…and that he does, no doubt. Perhaps I am wrong in my assessment of his performances…my eyesight isn’t the best if I’m honest, though I hope it isn’t cataracts! I have tried to explain the areas in which I don’t think he is very strong, which although surprising to the majority I’m sure, and is also why I think we could get better….even within the current squad. Maybe it is also possible that myself and one or two others have better ‘eyesight’ at the minute than the vast majority? However, I will trust LW’s judgment at the minute…he has much better ‘eyesight’ than all of us!

I will admit last year Cameron was fantastic….a pivotal player for the team and was worthy of the plaudits. This year he has just been average I think, he hasn’t stood out (apart from what I consider needlessly falling over in dangerous positions). If it was the Cameron of last season coming to the end of his contract I would certainly be anxious about him leaving, this years version of Cameron less so…I think we could find a suitable replacement.

Anybody who thinks Cameron's performance levels haven't dropped from last season to this is deluded. However has it dropped enough to not want him here as a starter next season? For me no. For all we know he's been offered a contract and hasn't signed yet or isn't going to. I suspect many won't make a decision until the season is concluded. If I was in their position I would certainly wait

Chicksen's position is different to many in the current squad. He needs continuity in his employment now he is in his 30's and obviously enjoys being at the club and working under LW so I'm not surprised at all, in fact he may have even instigated negotiations himself.

Just to add to the above that he is obviously liked by the players and is now a senior member of the squad so for him to sign already might just be what is needed to get others to sign a new deal if of course they are wanted.

Have they dropped or has the team collectively improved to the point that he is no longer a stand out? The defence this year aren't really used as a defence, they're normally starting the attacks, it's rare that we are on the back foot, on the same note, the attack is a lot more effective meaning Cameron doesn't need to get in the box and with our set pieces not being punted into the box, he's not really needed up there either. He hasn't dropped off, the style of play and the team method means he isn't on show all the time like he was. I am much more confident with him in than without him

Cameron as a defender is fine, got a mistake in him but generally solid enough. On the ball and coming forward he is outstandingly good for a centre back at this level. Good luck replacing that - he’d be one of the first you want to keep whichever division we’re in.

Both, the results and table tells everyone that we have collectively improved. However his level has dropped, there are noticeably more mistakes and errors (switching off, overlaying etc) when I have watched him play this season.

Don't get me wrong would rather have him, than not. However defensive he hasn't been as good, a little too relaxed, a little too error prone this season.
