If you are just plain faster than your opponent you don't need to do anything fancy. It's a nightmare scenario for any fullback when you know the winger has you on toast when it comes to pace.
He couldn't beat his man on Saturday though...And when he did manage to get a cross over, He never got it past the first man..

Yes true but that was just one game, as you know he's regularly beaten his man and provides assists and great chances throughout the whole season.

You surely can't expect a winger or wingback to beat every opponent he comes up against over a season? Even a fully fit TAR might have struggled on Saturday.

It's not just a matter of getting a cross in, there has to be someone there to cross the ball to or you just hang on to the ball and on Saturday we only had one striker dodging about and he was being shadowed by a giant wherever he dodged. As I've said before, only one striker at home is a bit iffy. Whether it has been successful in other games is irrelevant, it wasn't working in this game. York came here with no intention of going for a win, we could have played an extra striker.

Not winning the game and the way it ended surely led to the mass exodus instead of the show of appreciation expected and deserved.

That's an interesting point LL regarding the second striker in that particular game. Certainly would have posed different problems for the York back 6 or was it 7?

One striker being successful and effective all season at home is however very relevant.

Even with just one up front we created plenty, more than enough to comfortably win the game. We just ran into an inspired goalkeeper who saved them with some great saves. Oh and the width of the post. If we didn't create on Saturday then I would be a little concerned, even in a meaningless game.

He did struggle away at Wrexham to beat his man.

But let's not forget all the fullbacks and opponents that we can't name who he repeatedly beat. He's given some a torrid time and had them on toast, hence how often he gets to the by-line, how many dangerous balls in and cut backs his played, and of course the 8 assists.

He's often come out on top, often due to Rubens and Matty's incisive through balls that rely and take advantage of Nemane's lightning pace.

Its not just about pace, its about having the ability to wrong foot your opponent and leave him on his ar*e. John Robertson at Florest was the slowest man in football, but he always managed to get past his man. Like i said earlier, Cal Roberts also had the ability to do the same.
Nemane is a one trick pony who relies on his pace, other than that he is just a bang average national league player.

As long as he's no longer classed as a '10 minute wonder' then I'm happy . He's NL/L2 level for me, and had a surprisingly very impressive season playing and learning a new position.

As for Cal Roberts, he had/has the ability to a lesser degree obviously of a Robertson or Grealish but would you take him ahead of Rodrigues or Austin in the system and approach LW adopts. I don't think I would. Yes he can beat a man, made things happen and when on form (pre injury) he was almost unplayable at times. A joy to watch. However there was the other side to his game which wasn't so appealing, defensively non existent, moaned too much for me, and I suspect doesn't work hard enough or with enough responsibility off the ball from LW. He's not a Ruben that's for sure.

All hypothetical but I'd pick Nemane over Roberts as a wing back every day of the week and twice on Saturday and Sundays.

Remember Kings Lynne last season, Idiot Burchnall played Roberts at wing back for the whole of the first half. Notts couldn't get out of their own half and were lucky to still be in the game.. In the second half Roberts must have thought sod this and moved up to his more favourable roll, and went on to score an hat trick. My philosophy is, defenders defend and attackers attack. As proved with the Roberts situation.
