MILLWALL remain keen on a permanent move for Barnsley midfielder Callum Styles - but the Oakwell outfit will have to reduce their demands regarding the fee for any prospect of the deal to happen says Garry Rowett.
Charlton Athletic have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Harry Isted.
The 26-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal, with the option of a third year.
Isted wasn't our player but he did indicate some weeks ago that he would like to return to Michael "I'm no fly by night" Duff's Barnsley. Now Duff has flown away overnight he is not interested and feels better off staying in the London area with Charlton.
I hope Ismael doesn't come in with a Watford bid for Collins as Collins was central to his Barnsley tactical methods, both as a sweeper behind the high defensive line and a time waster/ sh1thouserer par excellence.
The ripples of the Duff affect in play and I suspect players we do have on the books may well be thinking along those lines .
We've been here before of course , relatively recently with your reference to Val who took Mowatt to WBA and the backroom staff .
Those left behind weren't exactly at it once they did one to the West Midlands , most of whom weren't half the players they were under Val .
If 5th in the championship to rock bottom and barely 30 league points within 12 months can happen it can also happen if less catastrophically in league one too .
A bit of a struggle and mid table isn't beyond us .
Luke Thomas has signed a three year deal with Bristol Rovers.
The first to go this summer.
Mads to Luton reported on BBS.
Seems that everyone is delighted with £3M fee as he’s only a year left on his contract.
Personally I was hoping for about £5 M.
Makes me wonder when when when is Barnsley going to sell someone for a big money fee that would jump start the building of the team.
It all sounds familiar.
The club lose their successful coach after one season-"Long Haul Mick" and then the club captain--"Mads"---and Nudge told us it was all going to be different under the new Board.
I'm not sure where the £ 3 million has been announced but there is nothing official--it will be the usual "undisclosed". £3 million sounds about right--some 3% of Luton's newly acquired wealth and about a half of what Peterborough would have got.
Good luck "Mads". You have been a rock at the back and served us well.
If it's true that's more in to fill the financial black hole at the expense of severely weakening the defence.
SB - if you think I’ve said players won’t be sold - then you haven’t understood what I’ve said.
