    Old Trafford Test

Who plays ? Not helped by the fact that Ben can't be relied on to bowl. Wood, Broad, Woakes and Tongue for me which leaves no place for Jimmy. Bairstow should be dropped but won't be, and we need a No 3. The Aussies seem to have worked Duckett out, but he's not going to be dropped. And how do we fit Ali in ?

I agree sinkov. On the evidence of the Tests played so far we have looked a better bowling unit without Jimmy and Bairstow’s impact has largely been negative. I have a hunch both will be selected for Old Trafford.

No room for sentiment but surely Jimmy having one last hurrah at Old Trafford would be worth a gamble? Bairstow is totally out of sorts and I can't recall Ben Foakes doing that much wrong when he has had the gloves on for England. I don't know which bowler I would drop to insert Jimmy though.

Said before that picking on sentiment doesn’t work and Jimmy has been injured and so
Has Bairstow - rushed them back to play

Should have picked the strongest team regardless of household names and loyalties it’s the ashes not a knock around on the local Rec.

Wood will start for sure. 96.5 mph his fastest delivery so far and he says he can better that.

And our 2nd quickest is Tongue, hit them with everything we've got. A shame for Jimmy, but it's the Ashes, not a Testimonial match.

Totally agree, sinkov, because we have to win this match to have any chance of regaining The Ashes. Anything less than an England win and the urn stays where it is ---- in Aussie hands. If ever there was a MUST WIN game ---this is it!

The momentum is now with us, not the cheating Aussies. They are missing their best spinner and Wood gives them the sh1ts. C'mon England.

Robinson may need a rest. Go Jimmy Go!

Robinson won't be playing, Broad, Woakes, Wood and Tongue are the only four to have troubled the Aussies, they'll be delighted if we play Jimmy instead of one of them.
