Thread: Stone

If I remember correctly , a few fans and people on this board , weren't exactly dancing after Archie Mair's debut v Maidstone. Short memories eh!. Give the new bloke a chance. He's got another tough game this weekend which no doubt will get the haters hating even more.

Where does all this "haters hating even more" come from? There are some real drama queens on here. I wasn't impressed with Mair's debut, I wasn't impressed with Stone against Stoke. No hate at all, just first impressions. Even before Wembley I was becoming a fan of Mair, and I will judge Stone entirely on what I see going forward. Hopefully I'll become a fan of his too.

The drama queens are strong force in the Pitchfork brigade. More melodrama than a Mexican soap opera when we are losing 1-1.

Impressed, not impressed when it's one or two games it hardly matters. That's the big takeaway, chill.

Completely missing the point again. What makes you think anyone isn't chilled? A few people have given their first impressions on Stone. As they did on McGoldrick, Crowley and Randall. That's all, just a few initial impressions of new faces which fans of every single club in the land do.

Do you think "haters hating even more" was over the top or justified?

Because I've read the board for years. Although I should save the chill advice until the match day threads lol.

First impressions are fine and expected as you say it's what fans do, moreso it's human nature However they often carry very little weight in football, sport and life. Nobody would ever write off or cast serious doubt about a player after a handful of games at a new club, a couple of preseason friendlies, or before they've even played a game. That would never happen here#viva.

On NCM? Nearly always justified. You've really got to be intentionally looking away on purpose not to have seen it. Thankfully it is just a very dedicated and impressively consistent few.

I was obviously talking about post # 31 referring to opinions on Aidan Stone. Do you really think anyone on here hates him?

Or was the poster being overly dramatic?

    More passive aggression.

I can't say for certain but I don't believe I have seen any evidence of 'hate' towards our new goalkeeper. But perhaps you are taking the words "haters hating even more" a little too literally. Personally I viewed it as him commenting that some people are all too quick to criticise, after a (PSF) game or two.

If taken literally then yes overly dramatic. If so, he joins a long long list, and this is just a mild example.
Maybe it was heat of the moment? Or he's fed up of what he sees as unnecessary negativity. I don't know, you will have to ask him/her.

Maybe he is just a 'Swiftie'. If so just shake it, shake it off.
