Best wishes brin. Hope things improve quickly.
At the risk of sounding negative, it makes me worry what we've promised in order to jump the auspicious queue of suitors- the main thing that we'd have to offer is game time and that's a worry to me
These PL kids are great talents but they're (rightly) brought up to focus on 'playing the right way' - which is best for their development but not always the best preparation for a muck & bullets fight at the wrong end of the Championship (e.g. BN-C or Hjelde)
This is why I reckon you're always better getting attacking PL loans not defenders although we do definitely need more pace, not just Bramall
Blackett & maybe Humphreys can maybe get a decent jog on but Hall, Morrison and Peltier not so....
Taylor announced yesterday that trialist's are only allowed to play two games so, a decision won't be made on Green until next week....wtf!
If he hasn't seen enough of Green already then he never will. Clearly he's a young player with talent and yes, two games don't make a summer but, we are now approaching the serious end of recruitment so at least make the decision sooner rather than next week.
Furthermore, if Taylor thinks Green isn't good enough for us, then who does he think we are as a club?
In post match interview he said next 24 to 48 hours
According to the Tiser a decision on Green has already been made and an offer will be made to him.
I suspect that has already happened
MT is preparing for other clubs to show an interest after his immediate scoring impact.
It’s as Flourbasher said. Paul Davies published a free to read article as follows from the Advertiser:
MANAGER Matt Taylor has dropped a huge hint that Rotherham United are offering a contract to trialist attacker Andre Green.
The boss spoke after Tuesday's night's pre-season win over Sheffield United about making a decision on the former Aston Villa forward within 48 hours.
But he also revealed that the club will be discussing details of a deal with the 24-year-old who scored against the Blades to claim his second goal in two trial games.
“We'll sit down as a staff and also sit down with Andre and talk through what we might want it to look like,” Taylor said. “From his side as much as ours. I want him to be comfortable. He’s done himself no harm by scoring twice.”
Green is a free agent after spending two seasons in Slovakia with Slovan Bratislava for whom he played in the Champions League.
EFL trialists can play in only two games so he would have to sign permanently to be eligible for Saturday's friendly at Lincoln City.
The fear now is that other clubs, alerted by Green's Millers exploits, could be keen on the player. “The centre-forward market constantly moves and other people will have watched these two games,” Taylor said. “We have to be aware of that. We'll see how it pans out.”
