Positive Amdouni and the new Italian ****ager wide - Brownhill looks like he’s signed for them Twine dragged wide from 10 yards again ( should have put laces through it ).

They’re a reasonable side But they picked us off twice - city will ah e a field day if we’re like this.
Said before BT when we lose possession centrally we don’t have the pace to chase - twine is reasonable but not quick enough - cork the same
Missed cullen calming influence and no nonsense- we’ve played 120 mins and lots of different players - however poor imo
    Anyway.

I think it will be damage limitation on Friday. We were vulnerable to their counter-attacks. Possession football is ok but you have to do something with the ball. We created very little and gave the ball away too easily when they pressed. They denied us space and we struggled to create any.

When we did have a couple of chances they were wasted. Costelloe is not good enough at this level. I am a great fan of Charlie Taylor but he is not a centre back. JBG is trying to be a creative midfielder but doesn’t have the guile.

On a positive note three of the new guys played and they looked good. Redmond also looked positive in the first 25 minutes.

Whilst it is great that we are trying to play possession football, it is slow and we face either a high press or the opposition has 11 behind the ball and we lack the creativity to deal with that.

We will play worse teams than Mainz but I think we will have some embarrassing results against the top teams.

I am not sold on Trafford either, to be honest. He didn’t have too much to do but he doesn’t have the swagger of Muric. We shall see who is No 1

It has to be said every summer, it was a pre-season friendly/training session, the result is meaningless, the performance, while it would be preferable to play well and win, fairly irrelevant also. No panic in the Ribble Valley, in Vinni we trust, it'll be alright on the night.

I fear another relegation, quite simply we are not good enough. 30% of last season's Championship winning team should have been bought. Maatsen, Tella and THB should have been nabbed along with Beyer.
Why are we messing about with total unknowns?
VK has lost the plot. Costelloe was playing today FFS!
Ump**** friendlies in and we have no idea what is our best starting eleven, we are f*cked.

Get some Citalopram down you and stop your moithering. Do you seriously think Sheff Utd and Luton have improved past us ? Of course they haven't, which means we only have to be better than ONE other PL team to stay up, not a problem. I would imagine Costelloe was given a run out then some D2 scouts could have a look at him, although I doubt Bradford will be in for him again. Vinni has just said there are more signings to come yet and Nixon, who knows the time of day, reckons we're in for another FIVE before the window closes.

    Europe here we come.

I wish I could share your optimism Sinkov but I am inclined to agree with BT. A team without significant all round pace is lost in the EPL.
We have so many slow joes who can no longer cut the mustard, Tella or an equivalent should have been our number one priority purchase.
    But let's hope you're right.

Toothless Tigers is what we are, our lack of firepower will just not cut it in the EPL. Foster is part of the problem and definitely not the solution.

My point Tap is that, while agreeing that our recruitment seems to be all over the place this summer, we only have to be better than Sheffield United, Luton and one other PL team. West Ham seem to be imploding, Bournemouth are nothing special, Everton are a mess, Wolves and Forest have serious financial problems, this is the PL we are in, we're not competing against the likes of City and Arsenal, and I have no doubt there will be at least three teams below us come the end of the season.

    Probably.
