Apart from a few posts in the match thread, I don't sense a lot of excitement about last night?
What a start to the season! Tonali looked ridiculously good. He was absolutely everywhere. And his passing skills are probably the best in the side already. Long may he keep it up.
Gordon was so much better than I've ever seen him, so involved in everything in the first half. Then Barnes came on and was possibly even better or just as good.
Two debut goals - good ones!
Almiron and Bruno had an off day, not too worried about Bruno though. Miggy is a squad player at best for me. Our defence looked out of depth a few times in the first half, especially for their goal, but I'm sure that will be sorted. Especially when we get more competition for the centre back and left-back position (or, I hope we will).
I'm looking so much forward to this season, man! We can even beat Man City away, I'm that confident.
Get iiiiiiiiin![]()

Nice one Hughie - you’re right. It was a brilliant first game of the season and a huge amount of positives. I thought it was a more business like performance from Miggy - few flashy runs but more link up play than usual. I saw only one mistake from him which Cash blazed over the bar at 3-1, but a good performance I thought.
I’m buzzing and hugely interested to see what we can do against the Champions, away, next weekend. There is no bigger test than this one.
Aye, fair do's, Hughie, you're right.
It was a great performance that deserves celebrating.
Gordon played like the player we were so keen-in the Amazon series-to buy.
Tonali settled into the PL pretty well, didn't he
Barnes will contribute a lot more than Maxi (not a dig at Maxi, btw)
Isak, if he stays injury-free, will be a 20 goal plus striker.
Bringing Wilson and Barnes off the bench shows good strength in depth (attacking-wise, at least)
Apart from lax marking when he scored, we didn't let one of the trickiest wingers we'll face this season cause us too many problems.
