Shaping up to be a typical Bolton game this - loads of possession, no end product then you go down the other end and score.
Hope Rooney is OK.
Why the Trotters? There are a few theories my favourite of which is that the earlier format (20 a side) team that played in the 1830s/40s started off in a village called Turton, then moved nearer to town and then moved again as the game developed into the modern format, eventually becoming professional (although they always made money from the bookies and the heavy gambling and drinking that went on according to newspaper reports) and "trotting off" was a colloquial term for moving around.
Or they ate pig's feet - nobody knows.
Feel a bit more comfortable now that captain Santos has recovered from injury so the back 3 might not be too shaky.

You're not wrong so far
Two soft pens - don't think I'd have given either of them TBH.
Nonetheless interesting game and a difference in styles.
Not sure about the Wildsmith dismissal - couldn't see it on the telly - think the linesman gave it.
Phil Brown adamant it was a handball so probably not one
Well I was tight that a Tiresias would score. Sadly wrong goal, but
That was as jammy a goal as you'll see - deflected cross.
Santos is an accident waiting to happen and there's plenty of chance of an equaliser - but we've got to stop floating crosses into the box as Nelson will have that all day.
Unlucky. Nothing between the teams and result could have gone either way.
No doubt you'll be up there at the end of the season.
There's a helluva lot for us to work on.
As an aside, comms on Rams TV was a lot less jingoistic than some I've seen...some slightly biased interpretations IMO but far more balanced than many.
Good luck for the rest of the season.
At 0-0 Handball not given. Should have been. We then score but get a penalty instead (shades of Attwell?). 0-1. They get a penalty. Was it one? I'll have to see it when the highlights get posted. It was definitely a foul but it looked just outside the area to me. Free kick, not a penalty and certainlynot1-1. Wildsmith? Again the video didn't show where it hit him. Maybe we'll get a better view later? Big shout for handball in the 2nd half. The Bolton player was on the ground, leaning on his hands, the ball hits his right arm but as he's supporting his body, it's not a penalty. They're a good side. Had us working hard from the off. From about 25 minutes we got into it. Gave them too much time and space early doors but we defended well. Should have gone in a goal up at HT. After the sending off they took control again but needed an OG to take the lead. Fournah had a good game but we really missed Tommo's energy. Not how you want to go into a 2 week break but that's*football.
