    O/T:- Oldham sack unsworth!

A quick visit to the National League and the latest news is Oldham have sacked Unsworth. I'm not surprised they were awful when we played them,Or at least we made them look awful.! If I was their owner I would take a punt on IB !

I was surprised how low they finished last season. Really shocked how they've started this one. Had a quick look on their forum and thought it quite funny that somebody was demanding they don't employ a former manager or even anybody who has ever had anything to do with the club previously.

No danger of LW being poached by them, but after he was linked with Sheff Wed in the summer I've become a little bit concerned by the Owls position. On their forum somebody started a thread yesterday titled "Would you employ Warnock right now?", a born and bred Blade of course, so things must be getting seriously bad there.

Oldham picked up after p[laying us at Home last season, thought they would be in or around the top this.

I quite agree. Look at Sc.unthorpe as well crashed out the league and straight through to the National League North. The same happened to Stockport as well. If Oldham don’t sort themselves out they could follow suit. Southend seem to be dealing with their points deduction well and are clawing themselves out of a hole.

It is quite plausible that it could have happened to us which does not bare thinking about. Plus was there not a threat of us being forced out of Meadow Lane if the club ended up in tier 6? Getting relegated out of the football league is bad enough but for a long established league club to end up going down to tier 6 means that something has gone very very wrong with how it’s run and operated.

Thankfully under the current owners the slide was halted and we managed to have four good seasons winning half our games and challenging to get out of the National League.

Yes, Tier 6 would have seen the end of the lease on Meadow Lane.

Southend have until 4th October to settle their WUO or it will be curtains for them.

S****horpe have real issues with their owner.

Is it my imagination or is this about the 20th time they've been in this position?

Not quite 20 but the owner has gone on record as saying he wont put another penny into the club so this time it does seem that either they are sold or its curtains. The buyer who was circling was Australian apparently he has now buggered off back here. I think they only have available players for their next game due to the transfer embargo. Southend are properly in the poo poo.
