    O/T RIP Sir Michael Gambon

    Another great actor gone

I'll always remember him for that greasing scene with Joanna Whalley in The Singing Detective but his career spanned much more than just avoiding an erection!

    RIP

Done some good stuff in his time, but I'm reminded of the time I went with uni to see him in Othello in the early 90s, assuming he'd be playing Iago. How surprised we all were when old Gambers walks on all blacked up as the lead role 😬

    The Times They Are A-Changin'.

Today he'd probably walk out as Desdemona

Was only watching him last night in Quartet . Great actor, but like so many of the cast members in that film, he's now moved on. Not surprising though as it was set in a residential care home!

Powerful actor with a huge range. He will be missed.

I only learned recently that Fergus Gambon, the ceramics expert on Antiques Roadshow, is his son.

Oh Joanne Whalley now there's a memory first remember her from A Kind of Loving in which she played alongside Susan Penhaligon, with those 2 certainly a show i didn't miss

There have been some clips of him on social media about an interview he did.

He was asked if it was true he was gay.
Yes he said but I had to give it up.
    Really? Why?
Because it made my eyes water!
