Forbes reporting details of Bruno's release clause

It's reported in Forbes, a very respected periodical, that Bruno's release clause of £100m is specifically for Barcelona.

So the red rats of bindipshire will never get him.

    Delightful.

Wouldn't begrudy Bruno going to The Catalan Giants. I'd be kinda proud. Especially if they fork over £100m

Come the end of the season we could be above Barcelona in the international rankings.

Aye, depending on how we progress in the knock-out stage of the UCL.

I don't begrudge Latin Players going to Real Madrid or Barcelona. The interview Bruno & dad did in the restaurant shows the levels of loyalty that the whole family have. That family values. For Bruno to go to another Premier League team would be a complete betrayal of the Geordie nation who have taken the Guimarães to their hearts.

He dad, Dick, is as much of a celebrity in the Toon as Bruno is.

Much like Mehrdad & Amanda are a good family these values are at the core of the Geordie people. The club is the heartbeat of the city. The city works, live and breaths for it's family.

We are in a fantastic place in our club & cities history.

It's gonna keep getting better and better as more and more investment pours into the Club, city & region!

In 20 yrs Newcastle will be looked at by man other parts of the UK with envious eyes & we will have achieved it all with any help from Whitehall, London or any Government that happens to be 'in-power'.

Like always the Geordie nation will do it all ourselves, the rest be damned!

Only thing is, as far as I'm aware, this link to the clause originally came from a dogy looking ITK on twitter - then it got picked up by Journos and has progressed from there.

yeah over the last few hours I've seen conflicting reports that it's £100m of anyone's money. I would assume that's upfront money too. Although for FFP it doesn't really matter.

However, I will be raging if Bruno goes to Liverpool or any other Prem team aside from City. I can understand City as a move. It's a step up. I don't see the bindippers, Ar$e or the red filth as anything other than a lateral move at best.

For me, as long as a player gives 100% while he's here then everything else is a bonus.

Obviously, you'd prefer to have players who love the club, the fans, the city, etc but it's the nature of where and who we are that we'll attract players who may have their eye on a 'bigger' prize.

5 years is a huge commitment for a lad from Brazil and, if you look at it from his perspective, a release clause is an entirely reasonable thing to include. No problem with it at all.

Never heard of a club specific release clause before. Doesn’t sound right to me. I mean, it’s got ‘come and get me’ written all over it and is a big f*ck off to clubs like Real Madrid.

    Concur Zipatronik!

The lad is loved in the city, he's stated clearly during the chat with his dad how much is loved the city and the fans for the way we all love his family.

I wouldn't begrudge him a move to Barca or Real Madrid. I don't see any other clubs (other than perhaps city) having the budget or the appeal TBH.

Juve aren't gonna be the financial powerhouse they once were as the days of Italian clubs being able to play fast and loose with the financial fraud rules are long gone.

So, where else? Milan, Inter? Maybe? However they they couldn't afford Lukaku's loan deal for this season so I wouldn't hold my breath there.

Munich? That's not a destination for any player who actually wants a challenge! Graveyard of ambition. Sleep walk your way to an irrelevant bundesliga title. NOPE!

So looks like as long as we keep qualifying for the Champions League Bruno is remain a Geordinho!

If true then I’m a lot more comfortable with such a specific clause than a ‘free for all’ clause any club could activate.

Not that I think he would join any club, but the press speculation whenever he is playing well would be annoying and distracting for him/the team.

I'll bet his old man wouldn't get anywhere as much adulation elsewhere than he does here. That man's a hero in his own right and probably wouldn't let Bruno move elsewhere.
