Have another look at your highlights mon ami, am I the only one who noticed all three Arsenal goals came from players going in with the knee on Trafford? Arteta wasn't moaning about VAR then.

Just watched the extended highlights, he made a couple of good saves, might have done better for Saliba's goal, but I'm not sure it wasn't just a very clever move by Saliba and a pin point delivery from the corner. But whatever, what I saw no sign of was a keeper whose confidence was shattered.

Saw the 2nd half of the West Ham v Forest game, Ward-Prowse caused absolute mayhem in the Forest defence with his corners and they scored two goals from them, the Forest keeper was all over the place, he made Trafford look like Gordon Banks.
Worryingly Ward-Prowse and his lethal corners is next up for us. My advice would be, ffs don't give any corners away, or at least as few as possible.
Gents be reasonable please , the lad has No protection at all and all anyone wants to do is blame the keeper.
I will say that playing for his country makes him a very good goal keeper - I’ll also say just from my own experience of being lucky enough to go up a couple of levels and what I mean by that is the physicality increased as you rise up the pyramid.
So if he played for Carlisle and Bolton in lower league football that would have been very physical with less protection than the premiership gives him now.
You just can’t keep blaming the keeper all the time - Muric played in the championship and you all on here said he gave you nightmares - transpose that to this league where we are visibly weaker the opposition is far superior and I really can’t see how it can be Traffords fault.
I'm with you army, he's played 12 games at this level now and despite what BT says I see no sign of his confidence cracking. This season is going to be a massive learning curve for him, as long as Vinni keeps playing him he will come out the other end a much better keeper, it could be the making of him. I expect him to be taking over from Pickford in another couple of years. For England of course, not Everton![]()
The worst thing VK could now would be to give in to the keyboard warriors and drop him, that would destroy his confidence. He's young and inexperienced, but learning all the time, he will make mistakes, but he's playing behind the worst defence in the league and against some of the best players and teams in world football, he'll come out of this season a far better keeper, if allowed to. Best thing he can do is get off SM and the msgboards and just keep working at his game, it will be a shame if the hysterical reaction of a few fans in their bedrooms detroys the career of a potentially top class keeper.
