I believe that the civil service in London is full of Remoaners who are still very bitter about the U.K. electorate voting in favour of leaving the EU and they were as unhelpful as possible when Boris Johnston was Prime Minister because Boris backed the Leave campaign.
Boris didn't back the leave campaign, he was its figurehead. He did more damage to the UK economy over Covid and Brexit than WWII did (exaggeration for effect)

There might be a silver lining ahead, the SNP could be out the door at last, the EU was rejected by the biggest vote in British political history, and the ludicrous antics around Covid show us how corrupt some officials are. So three devil's out, or going out. As for number four, Sturgeon, send her to the front line in Ukraine.

I wonder if there is a way of getting the Civil service to behave in a different way? I think rules and contracts of employment should be explained to the general public so that we understand the role of the civil servant. Are we wrong in assuming that their allegiance is to the state? Americans pledge allegiance to the flag, what is the duty of our civil servants.
SPADS should be paid for by the political parties who employ them. Is this the case?

    Watching Schindlers list last night.

How quickly the abhorrent, obscene and evil become normalised and accepted.

I know no one was shot in the head during COVID and NOT comparing the misery of a people being exterminated with wearing masks or not getting to the pub BUT how quickly ridiculousness is accepted when so few people say NO.

COVID was like the Salem witch trials with people believing the bull**** and I'll say again most still believe it all to be true.....if they accept they were fools it's an admission of being an idiot.

Those people who were denied the chance to be with dying relatives or be with parents the last few precious months of life were so wronged by this woman and her cabal of lying covering up *******s.........and bar a few ( a very few) notable exceptions those people that had a platform or a programme or a column looked the other way.

Rebooting the independence campaign over the bodies of the dead and dying.

    Best summing up I've seen.

Plenty other countries did the same with lockdowns etc.
Crazy how a huge part of the world shut down during this period.

I think that SPADS are paid for by the taxpayers as they are basically advising U.K. government ministers what to say or reply when answering letters and emails.
It will be the same for SPADS in the Scottish Government with them advising Scottish Government ministers what to say or reply when also letters and emails.
However I am not sure if the Green ministers who are list MSPs have SPADS as last Monday I received a letter from Patrick Harvie Leader of the Greens and a Scottish Government minister which contained a glaring mistake.
This letter from Patrick Harvie was in reply to an email I had sent to him at the end of November 2023 raising a couple of concerns I had including Patrick Harvie wanting to rip out all gas and oil fired boilers and replace them with heat pumps at considerable expense to Scottish householders.

Last month I had an appointment with a locum GP who told me that every virus is a coronavirus with the Covid-19 virus being another coronavirus.
Therefore in my opinion it is more likely that the current Nanny State was responsible for all the lockdowns throughout a large part of the world with Government’s following like sheep instead of thinking for themselves.
