⚽ Match Thread vs. Swindon Town [EFL L2] 29.03.24

I didn't wish to travel to Swindon today , not because of Maynard but because my visits there have been so nauseating that I have them as my most disliked team in red shirts. There are quite a few of them I know but I can't stand them.
Instead I went to the pub to watch Wrexham v Stags and what a poor match it was . Stags didn't turn up but once again the homer referee favoured Wrexham with three controversial game changing decisions in addition to awarding almost all of the 50/50 decisions to Wrexham too.
To say it was 1st x 3rd the quality was not a patch on Notts v Swindon at home when Notts were top & Swindon were third.
Notts early season were a far better team than either Wrexham or Mansfield.
How the mighty have fallen this season unbelievable that both today are languishing in the bottom half.
Looking at the fixtures recently and the danger of relegation , I identified Swindon & Colchester as points Notts could win.
Once again calamity defending and self inflicted concessions were the outcome. Jatta once again on the score sheet but Maynard claiming he needs his playing time managed.
Very cutting but sensible comments from Stall on Radio Nottingham.
Time to ditch Maynard & Co back to Wealdstone who have dropped to fifth bottom. Maybe they would welcome him back for our compensation money !
Stall has a great understanding of the game with all his experience.
Perhaps a sports psychologist is needed to sort Notts out with motivational sessions from Stall before games.
Maynard , Burchnall & Ardley were all the same , nice guys who talked a good game but far from motivational or inspirational.

Nice to see you dipping your toe in the real world Soccerman, in football terms at least! I share your pain, it's hard to take but sometimes as you say you have to face the truth. Sometimes blind loyalty is misplaced, you have to face the truth that something you have supported passionately all of your life is on a very steep downward curve due to poor leadership. But let's leave politics out of this.

I really hoped Maynard would be another gem from the brothers, but I can't see it. I can't see him coming good if we give him more time, I can only see us sinking lower. Pull the trigger tonight, put JOB in charge until the last game and learn the harsh lessons from this season.

It is criminal to keep playing our most creative player at wing back. If I was JJ, I would tell him to stick it up his management teams ar*e.. The sooner this idiot is out of our club the better, and take his so called management team mates with him..

Just had another look at the Swindon first goal, and though it was mainly Robertsons fault, you could see Baldwin could have at least put some kind of effort in being with the player who scored, Seems he's not bothered at all would, not play him against MKD

Watch it again and again - he was caught out by the rebound off the post because he was facing away from the goal blocking the swindon player who was facing the goal and so saw the ball bounce off the post so he reacted quicker - so Baldwin not to blame.
