Now it’s the case with Dimgate. You are way too positive about our teams and mangers.
It might look that way Regis but maybe I just recognise that it’s a piece of cake to be an armchair manager as opposed to the real thing?. I still rate Pulis as a great low budget manager for getting great results against quality opposition albeit awful football to watch. Never wanted Pardew in the first place (who would? One of the worst managerial records out there). Bruce never wanted him from day one. As to Southgate he’s not positive enough but his 62% win rate record speaks for itself (that’s a phenomenal win rate btw and the reason we are 4th in the world fifa rankings) I agree with you all though that we need to be more positive and less cautious in matches.

100% true Regis! The majority of people/fans are never usually wrong. Only a moron would say there’s no natural alternative to Phillips!! Those players who are there who play in that position must feel like getting the next plane home.

At the end of the match the Denmark team were applauding their fans and our players walked off. That’s again the managers fault!! This p rick Southgate is more concerned about players taking the knee where again the majority of fans feel it’s past it’s sell by date!

PS - Southgate is a moron!! To say England have improved is rubbish - easy teams in the last tournaments and deserved to get beaten at Wembley defending a lead ( yet again)

Southgate has won f uck all in his career - was as an average player and needs to go but he won’t - he’s too selfish! To have left Grealish at home was a joke and Gallagher and Bowen are two very average Premier players at best! Gallagher for us used to run around like a rabbit but didn’t do a lot and Pereira was a different class!

I thought it was just me when it came to Gallagher.

I see a lot of effort and running around but not much quality, I felt the same when he was with us.

On one show last night I found that for once, I agreed with Lineker.

    He was talking about Mainoo.

He described his England debut recently as the best debut he’d ever seen from and England player and the kid is only 18.

I didn’t know much about him because I don’t watch as much football as I used to but I kept an eye on him in the last couple of months of the season.

He is a wonderful talent, he has everything you need for a midfield player, he has the engine and desire but he also has great feet, wonderful balance and vision.

If he was Brazilian, Spanish or Portuguese he’d be starting……once again, we are too scared to trust youth.

Not enough is being sad about the stupidity of taking Shaw to this tournament, how many times do we have to continue with the “Metatarsalgate” thinking of taking players with long term chronic injuries to major tournaments?

Totally agree! Southgate is like Darren Moore - always tactically right in their heads and have player favourites! Loved Big Dave but he’s now found his level!

    Totally agree regarding young players!

I like the way Newcastle play under Howe and Potter is very highly rated amongst other managers from what I’ve been reading recently.

I worry with the pair of them that they lack personality and charisma and the ability to kick the FA and ruffle feathers.

Pep would be top choice for me but I don’t think we’ll get him.

Klopp has the personality and the style of play to excite the fans.
I was against a foreign manager since Capello but after seeing Hodgson and now Southgate, I think a foreign manager wouldn’t be a bad shout. Definitely no to Mourinho, Pep and Klopp definitely. Why? In my view and i’m sure you will agree too is that, players out there want to play for these types of managers. I do wonder sometimes how someone like Mowbray would do as an England manager.

Rankings don’t mean jack Boingy if you don’t have a trophy to show for. Look at Georgia.. and how motivated they are. We play a lot of friendlies and get to semi finals and qf - not good enough, after a while I get bored. Yet we still have this dimgate in charge.

I’m with you re Klopp, Southgate is going after this tournament, England would suit Koop, less day on day pressure and a couple of years to build for the World Cup, absolute no brainier.
