We'll never know how good a captain he would have been for us - I really thought he would make a good job of it. I wonder who will be taking on that role. Some say it's immaterial, but I feel sure that getting it right can make a big difference.

So it’s confirmed the news we didn’t want to hear. Firstly I’d say a massive thank you to Macca for the absolutely fantastic memories and for cementing himself into 21st century Notts folklore. Without a doubt the best bit of business the club has done this century.

A good character as well and he throughly deserves this move and what must a life changing wages. People can say what they want about Millwall as a club, but it will give him the platform like we did to test himself in the second tier. Having a striker for a manager must have been a big factor for him as well.

As for where it leaves us obviously emotions will be running high and people will be upset, annoyed and frustrated but the brothers have proven over the past five years that whenever we have lost a good talent we’ve always found someone who is different to the one we have lost but able to do the job.

We have Maccas 28 goals to replace and now it’s over to Jatta, Scott and Morias to step up. I’d like to think Jatta could be capable of getting 10-15 goals then Scott could get 5-10 goals Morais 0-5 goals. That’s assuming we don’t bring any more strikers in.

Keep the faith we will be fine.

I don't want to hear. If they announce a new captain I'll be worried we're going to sell him!

Truth is that a player who scores as many goals as ML did for us is a luxury, we would still have got out of the NL with him scoring half that many, so on the face of it the sale is not at all bad, i don't think for a moment that 700.00 is the real worth of the sale we will probably never know, the "add on's" are a misnomer to hide the real price.

On the bright side i heard of this sale 4/5 weeks ago so i presume our owners certainly knew and have plans in place to counter the loss of our top scorer, so, i think it's a case of watch this space from the Bros.

It’s the bitter/sweet of having owners that can spot talent.
Langstaff deserves this opportunity and hopefully we now reinvest some of that money and get another 1 maybe 2 gems.
He’ll be missed and I’m gutted but wish him all the best.

This is the statement made only in May. Not sure it's an incredible opportunity but there you go

In May, he told BBC East Midlands Today his ambition was to help fire the Magpies up to League One, having three years remaining on his contract, and said it would take "something incredible" for him to leave the club.
