It's almost as if a certain poster has surfaced again - light the blue touch paper and stand well back and watch the forum explode!

Isn't calling other posters vile and offensive doing exactly what you're moaning about?

Not remotely the same, I'm talking generally and factually rather than aiming it at one individual and using unpleasant comments just to undermine their point.

just because it's always been said doesn't mean its ok.
If every person chooses to put their own interpretation on any established phrase then all hope of common communication will be lost and anything or everything can be deemed to be offensive in some way or other.

Even minus macca I think the squad looks far stronger than the one starting last season.
Right, I'm off out for a fag 😉

I’m sorry but calling someone Laddo on this forum is an offensive term

However, getting back to the point, I feel that a team that has been stripped of half its players, lost its main star, and has been boosted by a lot of unknown quantities and returning long-term injured players is very worrying. Female dramatic monarch or not. Plus the team's quality will hinge on the performance of an unproven League 2 coaching team. I am struggling to see this as a promotion scenario.
Very good post WP. I'm with you on the scepticism.

Generally, I don't like a high level of turnover with the team - I prefer gradual evolution with players you get to know over longer than one of short lower league contracts.
I know squad change is a massive part of the game, but you could see every departure as a failure - a recruit that didn't work, a good player we couldn't persuade to stay etc. Like with the Stubbsy, Bradd era it's always better when players stay IMO.

Back to the subject, my scepticism won't descend too deep into negativity because we're an EFL club again, and I'm still on a high from that. Even with a massive clearout, that make us Maynard United, surely we won't be threatening the 23/24th spots again

Is how to be easily offended part of the education system these days?
