Hull have made a £2.5m offer. Apparently there are a number of clubs interested in him.
I would rather we got £4m+ for him and try to use this interest to start a bidding war.
And then we must bring in a good striker who is better and younger than him. As I've said many times, it really is all about recruitment.
For what its worth, I quite like him as a player. But we bought him for £300k a couple of years ago, if we turn that into a 12x or more profit then we're playing the game correctly. We have to do it again with the next one.
Anything over 3.5 million then I would drive him there myself. He works hard and love the lad but he’s not a Dwight Gayle ( when he was with us ) that’s for sure!
Maja could come good and Carlos needs to give Cleary a chance as he might be surprised as he would have been with Fellows. I get the feeling Grant could play more of a role and he deserves another chance and sure Carlos will think the same.
I just don't see what others see in him. Yes, he puts a shift in every game but his ball control is very poor and he doesn't score enough goals for the positions he gets in. Good luck to the lad if he secures the move though.
Considering Johnstone and BTA scored around 25% of our goals last season where on earth are we going to get replacements, the new season is edging closer and we are worse of than last season
Asante is entering the last year of his contract so that will effect his price, but for the price we paid he has been one of the best value signings we have made for a long time.
The transfer fees are all press/media generated it seems ?
Accordingly £2.5m for Asante and, allegedly, now £1.5m for Yoku looks odd to me - notwithstanding the obvious age disparity?
Who knows what the truth is and whether indeed the offers are genuine.
Done deal seems like we got 3m from Hull, good business for us, nice profit and one that will hopefully be invested in a striker who knows where the back of the net is. That said sounds like we might be sorry ?
