Some of you guys might find this interesting . Can you remember your first visit to Sheffield City Hall ? And who did you see?
Oddly enough my first visit I didn't even get in , Bob Dylan ,I went on the night hoping to get a ticket but it was sold out . Also there was some kind of protest going on " Dylan Is A Judas " type thing, apparently he had gone " Electric" upsetting his followers to a very high level

Lloyd cole and the commotions
Early 70’s. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.
Heading towards the 40th anniversary of my first visit and my first ever concert.
Depeche Mode Oct 19th 1984
Support act Portion Control so they were technically the first band I ever saw
It actually felt like it changed my life.
Both as regards DM who I've seen over 30 times since and live music generally.
Love going to gigs since that night and have been to well over 250 at least.
I'm not sure how many times I've been to the City Hall without checking, but at one point in the mid to late '80s it felt like I was going almost every week 😆
Some of the highlights being
Iron Maiden a couple of times, Tom Jones, Blondie, David Lee Roth, James, The Smiths, Tears for Fears and the last time I ever saw Depeche Mode in a small venue in '88
Lincs, my first ever at the City Hall was in the 80's to see Big Country and it was a brilliant gig.
So sad Stuart Adamson took his own life so young. Such a talented artist and singer
The kinks, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney an Marianne Faithfull - think the ticket was five shillings (25p)
Must have been about 1964/5 went on hot date with Doreen Somebody !!!
Went some time later to see Beatles
Real music 👍
Early 70s Lindisfarne, Cat Stevens & Strawbs.
Cliff Richard
Jasper Carrot late 70s/1980 on a very hot date to whom I’ve been married to for 42 years.
