That's not true. We have brought players in for a fee.

I'm also expecting Jones to depart before the window closes. Its the way it is when the clubs p1ssing money.

Personally, I think this is a load of rubbish.

However, if it is true, I've got my popcorn at the ready, because the club trying to justify flogging another prime asset whilst suggesting a "promotion bid" will be massively entertaining.

Of course we have reinvested in the playing squad. We have paid fees for new signings such as the goalkeeper on Saturday.

Is this rumour based just on one post on Facebook?

I don't know if there is any truth in the Mansfield rumour but Dan has been in the same position as JJ
Both did very well last year despite being part of a team that conceded comedy goals week after week
As a result they've both been picked by the players from other L2 clubs for the PFA L2 team of the year
From what I hear the representatives for both players have been trying to negotiate extended deals for some time
Not sure where we are with that at the moment but it does seem strange that we haven't tied them both down by now
Nemane's departure to MK was a bit of a shock but I hope Dan and JJ aren't going the same way

Selling Crowley to anyone at this point is kiss of death to the season stuff. Can’t see us doing it.

Or if he stays, for that matter.

If crowley goes I can see Jones following. I hope we're not going to be a selling club then end up signing a load of cheap crap players.

Only said to a friend last night that i would not be surprised to see Crowley and JJ depart this week. I have a nasty gut feeling the Bros are on a mission to recoup monies then sell the club, they have built it up with assets, so lets move on ?? hope I'm totally wrong but the actions of the last couple of weeks are not that of a team looking for promotion?? If they do go it will be a relegation battle all season as quality replacements will not be brought in and the squad is very thin as it is ??

Blimey, you do know they were losing around 2 million a year in the NL providing a squad to try and get us out? And I imagine they made another loss last year. On that basis they don’t HAVE to spend every bit of money they get back.

My thoughts are that someone is just having a laugh in the school holidays, making a post on FB under the username of Notts county mad, to watch the fall out on here….in all probability it’s likely a Mansfield fan!

I can’t see him leaving, unless a large amount of money is offered of course, in which case the club would be a little bit mad not to accept it imo. As someone else has said, Jodi, albeit a different type of player to Crowley, could be moved further forward. And who knows how good Grant is going to be….along with any other attacking players the club has its eyes on. Edwards looks like a player who could do a similar job to Crowley in a deeper position to me.

We have to give the club some leeway here, the recruitment has been fantastic since the owners took over, certainly the best it’s been since I’ve been following the club, and they have earned the right to play it as they see fit.

I really dont understand why some don’t think they’re serious about promotion. The owners have repeatedly said that they won’t just sign players for the sake of filling the squad, and that is what has transpired…the squad has improved in quality every year they have been here.
