MillersMad Matchthread - Crewe v The Millers

    Olá, do Porto!
Definitivamente não vou assistir ao jogo hoje Ã* noite, pois estarei na cidade comendo uma refeição deliciosa!

Really I’m utterly disappointed with Saturdays performance and even more so with the antics of Evan’s!
To think that the man could change our fortunes and change himself whilst doing so shows early signs of him not setting off on the right foot.

I know that it’s early in the season and I know we will play better over time but so will everyone else!

We all are aware of our cup success but hopefully that trend will be broken tonight and we’ll go a long way in the competition.

I hope that Saturdays result and performance was a blip and I know that I may be a little harsh!

It probably means too much to me!

Enjoy the match tonight but please enlighten me if we’re playing at home or away 😂

Well you enjoy your meal in Porto, us mere mortals will turn up in your absence. Even CAM is making an appearance.

Well let's hope Evans reshuffles the pack because that was an utterly listless display on Saturday.

Amongst other things, I'm hoping he drops Hugill for Nombe and reverts to a back 4 so that we can bring in another midfielder and play Hungbo in his natural position out wide.

    Phillips
    Rafferty Raggett Humphreys James
    McWilliams Kelly Powell Hungbo
    Nombe
    JCH

Heliospan, shouldn't this be the game where Evans looks at the potential new number 3 or give Dawson a run out? He seems to have taken a shine to Philips as his number 1 so he should be rested.

As for Hugill, yes by all means bench him mainly because JCH is clearly not match fit having missed out on a pre season and also because Nombe deserves to start after his showing when he came on at Exeter, when in fact he should have started.

My biggest call is bench Bramall, he offers nothing, can't beat a man, can't cross a ball and James looks the far more confident player who pairs up well with Hungbo. A double threat should be an early sub in the second half and let Holmes lose on them so we attack from both wings.

NB. Totally agree with you that Powell should be given a run in the middle. Sounds like Odoffin isn't signing anew contract so let's get the correct balance set up in the middle, starting tonight. Oh, and I hope Raggett has got his passing boots on tonight.

Brin, fair point regarding the keeper situation.

But because we were so unimpressive against Exeter I'd like us approach this game a bit more seriously, rather than use it as an opportunity to test certain players, hence Phillips.

Let's go after Crewe tonight and show some intent. A good win would be just the tonic going into the Bristol Rovers game on Saturday.

Tiens! Je ne savais pas que tu parlais portugais. Bom apetite! As regards tonight's match I know I have been vilified on here before for calling it a tinpot trophy but I changed my mind when we won it - again. We really could do with a win tonight for many reasons but primarily to kickstart the season.

Ohhh come on, evans only has his mates was proved first time round. Shearer over Warrington but the main one for me was when we had no centre half’s against Wycombe he played Taylor there we lost and Taylor looked lost at centre half. We recall the lad who was our only fit centre half from was in Oxford, Jonny Mullins maybe wrong on the name and we go away to Exeter and win.

Evans is all for himself, big ego no chance I’m going back while he’s there, a mean really sulky Clarke Harris made club captain but nombe isn’t training good enough. Load of rubbish.

Couldn’t care less about tonight either but hey ho.

Crewe are starting a really young team tonight.

From what I can see, three 19 year olds, 3 twenty year olds and only one player over the age of 24.
