When our players are out, we don't have ethernet squad depth to compete which is what a lot of people criticising the recruitment are saying
Also can you actually clarify when I said “ see, it's all good.”

There you go again throwing insults at fellow fans, if anyone’s looking down at people I suggest you go and have a look in that mirror in your tower 😉.

Set aside squad depth that was a very good display by a team that started with 6 new players (7 if you count Jatta as the main man) and then brought on another new man and two coming back from long term injury. The skill level of the whole defence is head and shoulders above last season (both in ability and communication) and will only get better with game time. Midfield was class and the attacking players never stopped running. Standout players for me; DC (best he has played) Edwards (always available and links well) JJ (seems to have free roam across the pitch but we still look better with him on the left) and AJ, all over the pitch and pops up in crucial areas when needed, better feet than ML and attacks the ball better. As good an attacking display as a LW team without the defensive uncertainty. Strengthen the squad, address the right side forward option and anything above midtable is there.

    Ok.

We won the match, yet instead of basking in that victory, you have swarmed all over any comment that doesn't explicitly follow the "party line", picking and choosing parts of individual posts to tell us how wrong we all are. If anybody needs to glance towards a reflective object, I might suggest that person is you, Matthew.

    Happy Friday, Notts fans.

However, before a certain section of the fanbase climb back up their ivory tower and preach about how wrong everybody has been because we actually won last night, may I point that that we have only won once in our first four matches. That is far from spectacular. It is also arguable that we've only played "also rans" thus far, and, for me, the same issues about the squad remain. I won't repeat those issues because they've been done to death.

The next few days will provide a strong indication as to where this season is going. Flog Crowley and Jones - we're stuffed. Keep them and augment the squad to meet our deficiencies - we could have a strong season. Personally, I have huge doubts about Maynard but I hope he proves me wrong.

    Let's wait and see.
    I love the irony.
Generally, the fans that are positive towards the club and the owners are saying lets wait and see how good these new players are, letÂ’s wait and see what transfers are still to be done. Meanwhile, others are tearing the club apart, new players are poor, relegation battle etc.
Then when we win a game itÂ’s now time to wait and see!

    Very good performance

Haven’t been SM’s biggest fan but if he keeps us playing like that..I’ll eat every mouthful of humble pie. Controlled the game but also took no chances and cleared our lines when required. Bedeau was immense along with Crowley and Jones. Jattas drop into the pocket short to receive turn and release JJ was class..something we lacked under LW and the way he used Langstaff. A multi layered performance a million miles from the predictable error riddled style that was served up towards the end of LW’s stint.

Well done SM and Notts..onwards and upwards.

I see you basked in our victory for one sentence.

The name calling of ‘bed wetters’ and ‘club apologists’ is just rubbish on the whole.

I genuinely struggle with those who either can’t see or flat out refuse to see anything from an other side. Football is so much more nuanced than A or B, Yes or No. Football is also such a moving feast that giving things time is so obviously sensible. Responses to threads of discussion recently have just been absolutely baffling.

It’s a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but some are baffling.

What the so called party line has been saying “Give the club a chance to get players in and give the new players a chance”?? Wouldn’t say it’s a party line more just a pragmatic view from a lot of people from what they’ve seen from the owners so far.

As for waiting to tell you how wrong you are, I won’t and also won’t be able to do it as I have never said we’re going to do well as I’ve no real idea till I see the players out there and also have had a lot of doubts about SM.

There’s only you and a few others causing divisions, labelling fans, insulting fans and if we don’t agree we’re now in an opposing party??? Wow.

Maybe it's time for a dedicated bedwetters v apologists thread along the lines of the old handbags thread?
