Howe saying all is ok with Trippier today and doesn’t know where the rumours are from. As the Yanks would say: “go figure”!

Anyways, I’d be gutted to see him to leave! He kicked off the good times for us, and I still think he has a lot to offer, and will see plenty of first team action this season!!

He had a much shorter pre season due to being in Euro final so I’d expect him to be eased into the starting squad.

Maybe he found training to EH’s standards a step up, might have had a limp on his left leg, but his friends misheard and thought he’s said ‘lump on before he’s left’

Would like him to stay, a wealth of experience for our fullbacks and we owe him for what he has contributed, but wouldn't be upset at a good Saudi fee.

This has suddenly got a bit odd.

Eddie now saying he doesn't know where these have come from - yet the personal problems are well know and it all makes sense from that point of view.

I think Eddie was being...let's call it 'disingenuous' at best.

He'd clearly rather keep him and, much as I can see the benefits of him leaving too, on balance, I think I'd rather he stayed...but not as first choice.

This is what is worrying me though - Rag has touched on it before - Eddie doesn't seem to want to let anyone go and eventually that will cost him.

Loyalty is good, to be encouraged but to much. . . .

The best managers know when to cut players loose when theres reduced benefit to the team as a whole. Blind loyalty is not a good quality.

To be fair he just about said J Lewis could leave today in the briefing.
