I understand that Derby, but it's no way to make a player feel wanted. UTM

I agree, it is all about selling and cutting the financial burden after we lost championship money

Odoffin, fluffed his third straight header straight at the keeper today? Is it all down to Hugill, Nombe and JCH to score?

That close proximity, head it down lad, don't they teach you that in training?

He's a 1 in 5 goal scorer so 2 more goes before we need to panic 😉

His miss in the last play of the game was appalling.Because it wouldn't have changed the result it loses it's importance but that is a shocker, under any circumstances.

He's a better centre back than midfielder but we are short there.

Haks is a very good player at this level, and half decent at the level above,he`s a versatile player who can play well in a number of positions,he`s our player already at the club,so no gamble whatsoever.
We only have a certain amount of money to play with, fair enough, and we needed to fetch in loads of players, given Evan`s strike rate,at least 50% won`t be any good,so surely the safest way to spend some of that budget would have been on getting Hakeem to stay before spending the money on players who might be OK,might be ****e.
    What do I know ?

So the latest on his contract
    https://www.rotherhamadvertiser.co.u...doffin-4780252

So previously we were told that contract talks would start one the players returned after the summer, then we were told that once the CFO had looked at the budgets post transfer window an offer would be given to him.....now we get.....

“Talks will start when we believe our season is really up and running,” Evans said.

“We are two or three wins away from saying: ‘Right, we're where we need to be now and we can do one or two bits that don't take anyone's focus away from what's happening on the pitch.’

What does this mean? So an offer now depends on whether we are near the top or bottom? Does it mean what we offer will be better if we win the next three? How did we agree deals with the new players if these conditions are part of the decision criteria?

It only takes the lads agent to hear of interest from somewhere else ready for January or even next summer, added to the fact the club haven't even sat down with him yet never mind doing what they said and put an offer together and we could lose another key player, either for nothing or reduced amount.

Our midfield is already lacking quality in depth (watch saturday if kelly and Tiehi aren't there) and we are taking this risk. The story is constantly changing, no progress is being made and delaying tactics from the club. This doesn't feel right

Maybe Evans has spent the budget and looking at selling haks in January of were not looking like a promotion team.
TBH he's Mr consistent and a player I would always fit into my team

bad day for Haks, Evans says we need to win some games before they sit down with him well more delays then. For me they are delaying as to keep the wage bill down. At the moment he is paid £x and will be here until the summer. The club has shown before they are happy for players to run their contracts down, I know Evans says they have learned, but to be honest i would believe him if he told me the sun comes up each day. If they give Haks a new contract that will be on more money so £x+, if they can delay that until January see where we are in the table they can minimise what they have to spend now.
