We’re Saturday/Tuesday now until Chesterfield on the 12th.

    There’s a few rules and regs about what type of player has to play in the fixture. If you look at the squad at the minute, the following probably want the minutes;

    Slocombe/Stone
    Gordon
    Cundy
    Chicksen
    Hinchy
    Austin
    Brown

I’d fill the rest with the youth team.

The fine for not fielding a strong enough team is up to £5,000. It’s obviously not my money, but I’d definitely be up for taking the hit to protect as many as possible.

I wouldn’t want to see any of the first teamers near it on Tuesday.

Anything in the rules about us starting with a strong team & making mass substitutions very early ?

We do seem to get more long-term injuries than we used to. There always seems to be at least three first-teamers out indefinitely. Wonder why that is.

That's what I'd go for. Get Reynolds, Sanderson, Cisse, Gill in the team.

Stone up top with Brown then?

We press harder and tighter than most which draws more close fast tackles?

The Mickey Mouse cup is an ideal opportunity to give Brown & Company a chance to impress.

With regards to injuries, I'm dreading that somebody's going to clobber Crowley next.

Agreed, it's literally the only thing it's good for: testing out squad players. In that regard it's come at the perfect time for us. We have a few injuries and could do with giving minutes to fringe players to see what they can do.

It’s the same with everyone. A mixture of the game being played at a much higher pace and intensity three days and sports science being better, so it’s easier to identify knocks and niggles where the player could fight through the pain barrier but would **** themselves up long term.

It's a good day out if we make the final though...

I'd rather watch paint dry than attend ANY game in this competition.
