Matchday Thread: Coffintree v Rams - Wed 6/11/2024

Up until yesterday, this was a game I thought we'd get something from. A point, maybe 3. Now? It looks like they are coming into a run of form. 2-0 down at home to Luton last week, they fought back well to win 3-2, I saw the 2nd half on TV. Yesterday they went to Boro and won 0-3.

They have some quick players and will trouble us, unfortunately. I spy a 2-0 defeat.

Can’t disagree. Last week I hoped we’d manage two points from Stoke and Coventry. Realistically that now seems down to just one, but I doubt that. They’ve scored six goals in their last match and a half while I can only remember one worthwhile effort from us yesterday. Stranger things happen but I fear a 3-0 defeat and a lot of picking ourselves up to do before the visit of Plymouth.
A scrappy point and no booking for Cashin will feel like a win.

It's difficult to feel confident after that shambles. Can we pick ourselves up, more to the point is there anything to pick up?
Just can't see any hope of even a scrappy draw, just hope we can avoid a clobbering.
3-0 defeat, leaving us relying on our home form.

If we're going to be a mid table team, then these are the games that we'll surprisingly play well in. 2-1 Derby

Is PW still under the spell of that mad 15 minutes at Blackburn when we had them under the cosh and they got 3 breakaway goals in that 15 minute 2nd half spell? Is that why we seem to drop back and let the oppo come at us?

One would hope not MA but if he is then it's time to wake up to the facts....carry like we are on the road then we won't get to double figures in the points tally in the away column. Wednesday could be highly significant to our season, get stuffed and, like it or not, there WILL be fall out.
Fans, even those pro Warne, will get twitchy and that can have a significant effect on players already likely to be suffering a confidence problem whilst he anti Warne brigade will soon let there feelings known and that will just exacerbate the situation.
No, Coffin tree is looking a key night.

I think we will come out of this with a 1-1 draw and it would be a very good point. I agree our overall performance at Stoke wasn't great, but Warne quickly changed things, Stoke have a reasonable side, people forget, that with a couple of exceptions we have still shopped in the lower end of the transfer market.

There are teams below us that have spent much more and apart from Blackburn we have rarely been outclassed. Your right in that fans, impatient as ever, will be twitchy If we lose, but surely those who are realistic, expected a season of grind to survive, which is exactly what's happening.

Ah, there's the problem Swale fans probably expected a season of grind but once the whistle blows to start the season that's quickly forgotten. A few defeats and cruddy performances and the natives start asking why having already forgotten that the purse strings are pretty tight.
Mind you when players can't pass a ball 10 yards to a team mate and hit crosses into orbit then perhaps it's inevitable. Twas ever thus.

So do Coffintree. 10 points from their last 6 games, scored 11, conceded 6. Their last 2 opponents have both had a man sent off.
