    Dumbarton

Tragically, - Dumbarton have also gone into administration.

Surely the time has come for the sport to have a serious look at what is going on?

For those of us who keep thinking that spending more money is the solution this is a wake up call. Two clubs in League one have now been deducted 15 points.

Football is not like a normal business, - where the harder you work the more you will gain, - or the more you invest, - the better you will become. It is more like playing the lottery and luck plays a huge part.

Supporters started a gofundme page only 24 hours ago trying to raise ?50k. They?ve already received ?43k in donations which is remarkable

I would agree, it's a shame when this happens. Like Jardi has alluded to its a business like no other.

Ultimately, the genie is very much out the bottle and will be very hard to put back in. The players now financially take out (almost) all turnover and profit from football clubs leaving very little in the way of wiggle room for anything else other than plunging yourself into debt. Unless you are owned by a billionaire of course. Some would say that's justified and understandable as most people endeavour to earn as much as they can and rightly so.

However, even at a small club such as QoS or Dumbarton, with such small crowds (made up mostly by reduced price season tickets) and no benefactors, the outgoings naturally have to be more than what's coming in.

The answer - no idea. What I do know though is that football as we know it or at least used to is dying.

The saddest thing Threefivetwo is that the powers that be in the SFA don't seem to care. As long as Rangers and Celtic are successful that's all that matters, - and perhaps ultimately, - they will end up playing each other every week, as there will be no other clubs left.

Indeed. Football is eating itself. A microcosm of our society, fuelled by avarice where the rich get richer with little thought given to those who struggle on a day to day basis just to survive.Unless there are root and branch changes, clubs like ours will increasingly go to the wall.

Absolutely, - and very sadly sir, - you are correct!
