Have you a reference for that in this, pension case? I've not seen that this issue is about preferential treatment. Seems more about being treated fairly.

She says "given that the vast majority of people did know about these changes, I didn't judge that it would be the best use of taxpayers' money to pay an expensive compensation bill"

I remember knowing about it years before it came into force.

    Most people did.

Conservatives did nothing about it, wanting to leave it to let Labour sort out the mess. But Labour messed up with all the comments they made prior to getting in, but now going against it.

I can't understand though why it is only those born in the 1950's. My wife was born in 1961 - it affects her too (not that we want compensation).

It?s a bit odd to be more annoyed at the government who are dealing with this( and the post office scandal, infected blood, Grenfell etc etc) than the government who didnt.

Even when as in this case, the solutions are sometimes not to everyone?s liking.

They call themselves WASPI Women. Woman Against State Pension Inequality. They got equality and didn't like it, they preferred the preferential treatment woman had previously.

Given that it was first mooted in 1992, legislation followed in 1995 and then a further act of Parliament in 2011, I think people must have been going around with their head in a bucket.

I can't remember a new government being so unpopular with a vast majority so quickly.
Farmers , pensioners, waspis, businessmen etc. At least the train drivers and doctors are happy😀
