If this rumour is true, it shows that the model really is working. The recruitment and the style we play. We are not a Championship club but the style we play is one you will see at many of the clubs at that level.
If this happens we are 2m plus in payments received in the last 1/2 season. This has rarely happened at Notts (the odd player in the 90s and one or two since).
I don?t think we are a club that does something without a plan. Notts will only sell if a plan is in place.
Jatta came in to essentially replace Macca who replaced Woots.
Crowley replaced to some degree Ruben.

Two out of those had not set the world alight at previous clubs and Macca had never done at the level we played, yet here we are talking about them as indispensable.
We have recovered from every star player that has left? there is nothing to suggest that we won?t find another gem.
Don?t believe those that pour scorn on recruitment, especially with young players. These will come with a risk but also the most potential. Abbott and Macari are 2 players that have developed a huge amount since being at Notts.

?1 million is a lot of money and we would probably get less in the summer. However, we would also have to pay less in the summer for a replacement and have a lot more time to sort something out.
If they take the money I think they are giving themselves a ready made excuse if we don?t go up. We already have to bed in 3 new players as it is.
Additionally we appear to have 2 less coaching staff to help keep things on track.
Selling now is a high risk strategy and probably does show a lack of conviction.
But then again it is not my money.
    Tough it out Notts.

I doubt ML would be interested in coming back so look out for DM as a 9 and a couple of young kids behind him. As mentioned before, 13th would be an improvement and seems acceptable to some. IF this does happen then perhaps next season I will support Notts County Profit and Loss account.
You're completely off your rocker if you think 13th would be acceptable.

A healthy bid and a healthy response from our club. Two rather positive signs, to me.

Unless the team have foreseen offers coming in for Jatta so soon and have been lining a replacement up on radar I can't see how they would sell. Firstly I can only see jatta's stock rising. Secondly the brothers never seem to make rash decisions, everything they do seems to be considered and calculated not panic buying ( or sackings). Thirdly talk of Macca replacing Jatta is somewhat ridiculous. Remember when we were complaining we had no airel threat upfront when macca was up top, well isn't that what we would be returning to?.
What conundrums we have ! God i remember the days when we couldn't give our players or managers away..!!!!

And in the process we've been entertained by a procession of very talented, fun-to-watch players...

Roberts, Rodrigues, Langstaff, Bostock, Crowley, Jones, McGoldrick, Abbott, Jatta the list goes on, even the defenders have been easy on the eye.

The recruitment team deserve credit for delivering entertainment.

I think we'll find he won't be signed by Plymouth at all now. Our owners don't like financials being discussed, it's evident Plymouth have released the figures (we are tighter than a Yorkshireman on an austerity drive).

I?m not sure Jatta will want to leave either, especially not to Plymouth. He will have seen what a fiasco Langstaff has made of it and it could well be that this time next year we are above Plymouth in the football world anyway?as we maybe Millwall too. League positions can move fast and I?m not sure Plymouth or Millwall are ?any bigger? than we are potentially either.

My other point on this why clubs who do not play anything like the way we play think that by signing our star striker it will help them !! Just watch Langstaff to know what a balls up Millwall have made of it.

I had a bit of a search and found whispers of their interest from two weeks ago.

I'm sure the club has been aware and used the time to pursue contingencies. May even be why we haven't announced another forward yet, if it depends on whether it's a squad addition or a Jatta replacement.

I can't believe we'd sell him without being ready to replace, even with a silly money offer. But equally you have to think we had targets for different contingencies months ago.

Whatever happens, it's been a pleasure having him at the club. I really hope he stays.

    I'd heard whispers too
We definitely don't want to sell as far as I know
From what I've heard AJ is very happy here
Players like AJ are as rare as hen's teeth - big, fast, brave and scores goals
I suspect we will hold out unless we get a ridiculous offer
The problem with Crowley and even Macca was that once they knew the personal terms on offer from the other bidding club(s) they both made it clear they wanted the moves
