Time for apathy? Or let the chairman know?

The great cost cutting gamble is over. It has long since been spotted. In a season to rival some others since Evans left the last time.
People who will turn up and watch anything are magnificently propping up a club. And with some apathy and shrugged shoulders.

The empty seats, many of which are already paid for, show the way. It is hard to shout at a chairman who has provided so much, and yet be so woefully short in football nous. That above all else needs fixing.
To have what six seasons thereabouts where we had football management way better than we have seen since. On a football pittance. And you know who I am referring to.

To then after to decide to squander a couple of million on players it was clear were no good, let loose by a manager we knew nothing of, who made a mess for all to see up to a Jan window and then brought the likes of Hugebill in. Sheer folly C?ptn.
The fact that teams like Reading actually kept us up, not a manager got overlooked, by not by the ones with football brains.

This is what keeps happening at major turns, bad board level decisions. To have a football technical director, head coach or not, that is the question.
Er, no thanks, we had better not less we get found out. Brian Rix could not have wrote a better one.

Enter the man on a chariot. The one with rusty wheels. I do not particularly blame him, he does not know any better.
Which is a damning statement in itself.
The problem is he should not be here in the first place.

And so, only one cause for where we are now.

    Why let him know?

If he doesn't want to sell, he's not obligated to anyone in the stands and has repeatedly taken the 'sustainable' line and run the club as an autocratic. This won't change.

If he does want to sell, he needs someone to come forward who will offer him enough to part with the whole lot and (my opinion) offer some sort of presidential role where he can watch and eat for free for the rest of his days.

There's nothing we can do to change any of this unless there's a well-organised fan buyout, but in a poor northern town where it's highly improbable there would be either enough folk to form a large consortium, or a handful prepared to lead and include many smaller investors, that's not happening. Just keep buying your tickets, take your medicine, and accept this is the nature of the game.

    Sensible post.
How many fan led groups running clubs have achieved success?

The sample size in this country is negligible, but in Germany (as an example) it works well and the fan culture is incredible. I don't think it would work in this country, personally, because I think there's a lot of arrogance around money which doesn't seem as bad in some other countries. I think it should be a longer term ambition of all English football to get to 51% fan ownership though, and I think the game would be exponentially better for it. What percentage of owners are loved by their fan base? It only happens with either excessive spending or "above their station" success.

If he is on a great cost cutting excersise then why are they saying that this is the biggest player budget ever for league one?

I don't think that we are cost cutting! I think that Evans was given the money and like a child he went into the sweet shop straight away and bought the most expensive sweets possible. If he was going to the pictures he would have eaten the sweets before getting there and have no money left to replace them for watching the film.
2 players he signed would have been playing in the Championship this season if he had not bettered the offer. An aging centre forward was signed up and then laid down like a lame horse on a bed of cash!
Other players are on salaries previous managers would have gotten two or three players for the same amount!

It is a shyte show and like mushrooms we are kept in the dark and are being fed the shyte.

As usual, you totally ignore, miss the point. The point is not to remove him, it is to acknowledge his lack of football nous and do something about that.

A lot has and is being said on here, but the facts remain the board drift into picking the right management.
    Poor delegation ruins a business.

As to cost cutting, does anyone frog really believe we have a big budget? These lame ducks evans has signed would not have got a game elsewhere and were grateful to come here on a cut down wage. Wise up.
