Montague doesn't join Swansea until tomorrow the 18th Fed. That makes it even more funny timing, I bet he's wondering what the hell he's done now as well

As for Luke he said he wanted to be closer to home and it was a club he knew well including the owners so I have little sympathy for him. I guess he'll be at home more often for the foreseeable No I wouldn't want him back, as said far to one dimensional. Swans fans were annoyed losing 3-0 and 3-1 recently with over 65% possession so no surprise he's been sacked.

I'm sad to hear it hasn't worked out for Luke Williams. His success in taking us back to the league, and particularly the style in which he achieved it, should not be forgotten. I don't really go with this notion that he was disloyal to us - he earned his chance by attracting the attention of a higher league club, and the reasons given for leaving may or may not have been a case of diplomatic language, but were not out of the ordinary. If he had said he was going because Swansea were a bigger club offering a lot more money, that wouldn't have gone down well either with some! We've since moved on, out of necessity, but I certainly don't bear LW any grudge and I wouldn't have wished this outcome for him. I'm sure another job will come along in due course though.

    Maybe he won?t start?
We have a vacancy here as DoF/recruitment.
Now I would have Montague back.

Once the head has been turned it?s been turned and there?s no going back. He?ll have switched off from Notts county and there?s no going back.

Exactly, the same when Williams head was turned by Swansea and results started to falter as they did when his head was turned by WBA while at Swansea....I see a pattern there.

Probably done it before RM starts so that it doesn't have to be his first job.

A bit strange though that LW said RM probably went to Swansea because he was there!

    All of this.

Have none of you ever left somewhere for a better paid/more senior role when the opportunity arose? I don't understand the anger when this happens in football. LW gave his all at Notts and got us promoted, that's enough for me. I hope he finds another job quickly.

Agreed. I don't get it either.

So many expect that the manager should see out a contract but are far too ready to want him out if it's not going well.

I really struggle to see the issues as well. Like you say, if you have to opportunity and ability to do a similar job at a higher, better paid level then the vast majority would go for it.

On a similar theme, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, but I struggle to have too much issue with how DC left either.

I also cannot stand the rank revisionism of LW and his time at Notts (this has also happened with DC and ML). I dont remember many giving a **** when his one dimension was getting us promoted and had us at the top end of the table half way through last season. Hindsight based revisionism is genuinely hilarious.

We played some outrageous football under LW. Had one sensational season and half a decent half of one too.

Football is understandably emotional. But the act of the spurned lover by some on here, regarding those who leave us, is utterly embarrassing.
