Thank god someone he sees it for what it is - my argument for several weeks -,Fleming is NOT a target man and cannot run the channels and offer like a natural forward would - Foster is as you say low on confidence but is the ONLY option we really have naturally for a number 9 position ( no one?s happy he?s missed chances ) but we need to get behind him not call him $hite continually.

He needs a goal and he?ll improve - I?m not saying he?ll be a world beater but he?ll help the cause.

I can't believe Foster reads what is said about him on here, so what we say makes no difference. He's a professional playing at a very high level but it's reached the stage with him where he's afraid to even take a shot on. We can't continue to carry a passenger like this, he should be removed from the firing line and given time in training and/or Dev Squad games to get some semblance of confidence in front of goal back.

I wonder how Brian Clough would have handled him after that debacle at Cardiff, a rocket up the backside or an arm around the shoulder ?

Time to ameliorate the thread title a bit more "Foster is just lacking a few attributes,"

He would have sold him to Hartlepool.

Ahh you?re all right and I?m wrong we?ll keep playing a no 10 at no 9 which doesn?t work he hasn?t got the pace nor does he understand the runs to make.

You?ll be telling me next that Barnes should start up top for us

Only if we're playing Barstewards, joking aside I agree we don't have an effective no. 9 and it must be make or break time for foster. He had his chance at Cardiff but blew it but he is obviously a better player than Bash but as it stands he is not a better finisher. All we can hope for is that he has the confidence to bang one in and then progress. As BT has stated if we'd have had a half decent CF we'd be p!ssing this division.

Foster is quicker than most CBs in this division so he should be getting some balls over the top and down
the channels where speed can be exploited. Our midfield's vision extends to about 30yds and mostly in the back and square directions.
Until this changes, Foster will never be the payer he could be. It's to his credit that he continues to make the runs he does. I thought JJ might have changed this approach but it's not looking like it.

This is fact and very accurate - I posted a few times when he was at left wing he makes the runs continuously but isn?t given the ball - people don?t see that - it?s easier to slag one man off amd make it all his fault.
