Thread: ⚽ Match Thread vs. Grimsby Town FC 11.03.25 [EFL L2]

That was a mature performance from some of our younger players
Battling away and no one hiding
Whittaker has taken stick but he worked like a dog
Once Didzy cake on he settled everyone down and Grimsby were constantly on the back foot
Gordon was terrific as was George Abbott

Agreed re. Whitaker. I thought we did well tonight in terms of working hard for each other and, to a man, keeping going. Bass injury is a blow but Sam did well too.

Back it up on Saturday and we are right back at it.

Crewe can beat Donny at home on Saturday and we will beat C'Field so right right back in it.

McG went down in a heavy challenge and was limping not long after he scored. Hope he recovers.

What a class performance from Didzy. Wow. What will we do next season if he wraps up? He’s irreplaceable, as his recent spell out has proved.
Much better effort. Obviously not a great, tactical tippy tappy display, but I don’t care. What was needed tonight was first and foremost, show some effort. Put a shift in.
To do that and get 3 points is beyond expectations for tonight for me so well chuffed.

Slocombe coped well and it didn’t look good with Bass on crutches and leg brace at the end there so looks like he’ll be stepping up for a bit.

Give them a couple of days off now Maynard ffs. Don’t over train etc…let them recover properly and go again on Saturday because the home games are the issue.

He was sprinting across the box not long after so looked fine to me.
