Lincs, totally agree not in the same league as Dusty. However, it was indeed a good rendition and sweetly sung and brave of her to take on a truly classic song. Some folk say there's only one Whitney and those that have tried to sing her songs have failed miserably, again I agree on that. It's as though some singers just fit the song hand in glove.

Twas a bit tongue in cheek Brin. It's the b side to Hay Numan's Cars, an instrumental called Asylum which always struck me as terrifying with dooming piano and haunting string synth.

When I was a kid we'd go to Reighton Sands holiday village near Filey and they'd have a cafe fish bar near the entrance which had a juke box. On it they'd always have the Cars single. I'd used to sit and wait till it good busy with lots of families and kids, nice sunny days. Then I'd put Asylum on and watch sniggering like a little Butthead as the conversation would slowly stop and kids would return to parents. "WHAT THE **** IS THIS??!"

After a while the owner found out who was putting it on and barred me. Great fun whilst it lasted.

Put it on again, loud, through headphones. You'll see what I mean.

Listen to the album Brin, Rumer sings Bacharach and David . She covers some less well known stuff

LolM for me it has to be this track by Elkie. She is now 80 years of age but still tours. She always visits the Sc.unthorpe area each year as my friends book to see her each year and apparently she can still hit the notes.
