Yeah, I think you're right about fluid support. My father in law, and his father watched both teams years ago, presumably his grandfather was the same.

My Dad would never have watched the R*ds though! I guess his father watched both teams as none of my aunts or uncles were just Notts.

I remember when I started watching Notts, that you could sneak up and sit at the top right of the old Main Stand at half time. From there, you could see over the Trent End onto the pitch at Forest.

I'm sure there was one occasion when Notts had a home game and Forest did, on the same day, because they were FA Cup games and I could see some action happening 'over there'.

I can?t blame my dad as he was a Red?s fan albeit I have no recollection of him going to a live Forest match. It was a neighbour who took me to my first Notts game, a 4-3 win to the Pies which got me hooked. My father passed away in 2019 but I did make special mention of him in the eulogy as, probably, the only Red fan who actually saw Notts play live more than his own team as I often took him to games at ML. We also had a trip to Wembley to see the win against Brighton. Typical Dad, he wanted to leave straight after the game to avoid the rush home, totally forgetting there were 30,000 Seagull fans already heading for the exits.

I can't even remember Forest being an option.

I was taken to my first game aged six or seven, it was against Doncaster I believe and I was taken by my Grandad, Dad and uncle. I'll never forget how bright the teams strips were and how green the grass was under the floodlights, the scale was awe inspiring to a kid of that age.

I married in to another Notts family and produced a fourth generation, season ticket holder.
