Munto Finance - An Alternative NCFC View.

Seeing as it is alternative view day on NCM.

In July 2009, Munto Finance took over. IF it were all 100% legitimate and the money promised was there through the proceeding 15 nearly 16 years, where would we be today?

I reckon we would be in the PL and we would definitely have a monorail.

    Thoughts?

I reckon we would have seen Warnock come back at some point, if only for a few months at the end of a Championship season to get us up or keep us up.

"Charlie Palmer day" would have been superseded by now with whoever happed to be the most recent player to net a winner v Fword.

God, this might just be the most depressing thread we've ever had on this forum. Proper Jim Bowen "this is what you could have won" vibes.

We might not have been as far forward as people imagine, because so-called Financial Fair Play would have prevented the level of investment originally envisaged. If Munto had been real, they probably would have had to follow a similar strategy to the current owners, albeit at a more breakneck pace, investing in growing the club's supporting infrastructure in order to increase revenue streams and expand organically.

The established big clubs were terrified of comparatively small clubs becoming rich and powerful overnight and threatening their positions, which is the real reason FFP was invented. The cover story was that it is designed to prevent smaller clubs over-reaching themselves, but you would have to be exceptionally naive to believe the football establishment suddenly developed a conscience about such things. The true purpose of FFP is to keep the existing hierarchy intact.
