Bedau for me also. Both he and Platt have been magnificent all season with Abbott also right up there. McGoldricks brilliance will always see him as a contender but minutes played has a bearing. Bedau just shades the other two for me, as well as defending magnificently he never stops looking to go forward. Sets the tone in almost every game

From a narrative perspective, I can't understand how the fanbase wouldn't want to choose McGoldrick. Wanting to come back to the club he supports after a stellar career. Possibly his last season playing at this level. "One of our own' and all that. That's a much more compelling narrative than new boys come in and do better than the players who preceding them.

But it doesn't have to be based on narrative, Didzy has been amazing this season. His goals, his all-round play and inspiration of teammates have kept us up there more than any other player IMO. What he does is far rarer and more difficult.

I really hope Didzy gets this, I'd imagine the other players do too.
    I totally agree with this

He's a class player at this level and has everything you'd want from a lower-league defender. Still young too. If it weren't for McG shifting into a gear I didn't know he still had, I'd pick Bedeau too.

    I've just voted for Bedeau.

Will be well deserved whoever wins it - we have some really good players.

Bedeau just nicks it for me on the basis that he's played the whole season at a very high level extremely consistently (yeah, Cheltenham, I know), does two jobs extremely well, and has an exemplary attitude.

Surprise surprise, Ive voted for McGoldrick. He has been consistent all season. Although, there has been nothing to choose between Platt, Bass, Abbott and Bedeau.

Abbott for me. For a kid to join on loan & play in a physical league all season & not go missing, then chip in with a few goals & fans wanting him here next season says it all to me. Goldie is pure class & I hope we do offer him another contract like he wants

I've gone for David McGoldrick. Without those stunning goals, we wouldn't even be going into the last match with two chances for promotion.

I also like the local boy came back story.

If there is still a Young Player of the Year, I'm going to take a wild guess and say David McGoldrick will be pipped at the post by George Abbot.

McG for me too he makes us tick like no other player. Bedeau and Abbott close 2nd and third.

McGoldrick has been incredible. It's not just the amazing goals and link-up play that nobody else can do at this level but also his attitude. He never stops running and trying to make things happen. A true pro and a great role model to our younger players.

Agree with all the consistently suggested names. I am going to rule out Abbott purely as he?s a loan player, Bedeau just pips Platt but the vote goes to McGoldrick. He does things others at the club and in the league simply can?t do. He?s a thoroughbred, he?s a stayer and plays with the enthusiasm of a ****ager
