One of the many I wanted here when available. One of the best strikers youll see. Really up and at it. Hes off after the ball while other players are thinking about it. Even at his age now hell be quicker off the blocks than most. Plus he can finish.

Nope. Sorry Lloyd but it was Roy Hodgson who blocked the move for Vardy. We'd scouted him on a number of occasions and Roy vetoed the move on the strength of watching him in person once on a wet and windy night somewhere. There's any number of things JRP can be criticised for over the years but Albion not signing Vardy on the strength of Roy Hodgson's opinion isn't necessarily of them.

I was told we were looking at him before he signed for Leicester. Hodgson signed up to the Albion in Feb 2011, Shane Long joined in August 2011 and Vardy joined Leicester in May 2012. The rest as they say is history etc.
